Ok so here's my take on this whole old tengaged v. new tengaged that seems to be going on here. By all means, this is MY OPINION and therefore my right to state, so if you feel like you need to argue why my opinion is wrong then you can shove off now, because I'm in no mood to deal with children. For the TL:DR version, scroll to the bottom.
To the new generation and everyone shouting about #noobsupport, #noobpower, and whatever else you can form with hashtags, I think you need to come to grips with a couple of things.
#1
For every person who has enrolled in a game, climbed the ranks to HoF, had a merge streak, or shops empire, there is something we've all had in common - - we've all started out as beginners. No one registered for this site (on their very first time) knowing exactly how to play every game, or having a good (or bad) reputation. Everyone was a #noob at one point, and we've actually spent a lot of time building relationships with people who most of us would call friends. That is why people like Phenomanimal, BlueStar, JordanLloydFan, BbDamian, Pepper, finklestein123, PrincessTeePee, Aquamarine, BlueLagoon506, Jarst, FlameonX, (loads of others from back when as well), do well at games. So when I see some lower level say something like "They shouldn't win because they're TV Star," or "They don't understand what is means to be a noob" it confuses me because both those statements, and others like them are nonsensical. We've earned our stripes, we've started out as noobs and we've advanced as everyone aspires to do on this site. So quit with all that malarkey.
Pulling from above, all this blind #noobsupport for the Stars game really needs to be addressed. Now, again I'm not one of those Old-School Tengagers that is relevant at all. In fact I'm 95% sure most of you have never heard of me, that's cool though, I'm not active anymore, and that makes sense to me. But I do understand how #Stars SHOULD be played, and as a noob, you probably do not. Stars is a grueling, stressed-induced, personal level of hell that for some reason, we like to subject ourselves to. Nevertheless it is extremely fun to play, and thus we do so. It takes A LOT of time and energy, and causes you to test the strength of the bonds people create on this site, but also how well of a player you are to avoid the dreaded block. So while you're playing your #fastings, imagine that but over an entire week, with people you probably have a previous relationship with, and you all want 1st.. as always! I can tell you firsthand, most 1st time stars players have no idea what they are doing, and the game comes with a bit of a learning curve... so to say a noob should win strictly based on the fact they are a lower level, or it's their first stars, is just stupid. So forget this thought process now. And I can attest to this, it took me a couple stars to really learn the game, and I understand how being a flavor looks like you're not trying. I get it noobs, I do. But when a first time player is continually nominated, it's probably because they just don't understand the game well enough, and therefore suffer at the hands of the more experienced players. So before you just vote to save a noob on that premise alone, maybe look at the previous polls, or if there has been fighting in the game, read it, it might shed some light on how the game is actually being played.
To the Old-Schoolers, I really only have one thing to say.
Like I mentioned above, we were all beginners at one point, so just try to remember that when you are playing with someone a bit newer. Try to help them, or even strike up a friendship! Believe me, I know it's hard to like new people (I mean I TRY REALLY HARD just to like and appreciate the older generation, let alone trying to not write off every new person I happen to meet), but there is a person behind these snazzy avatars and those basic bitches we all had to start with, so try not to crush their spirits too much, okay?
That's all I really have to say. Yes, this is directly related to the fact that I think two relatively older tengagers were robbed of their game because of #noobsupport, but like I said it's my opinion. You can agree or disagree at your will.
TL;DR
New Tengaged: Stop with this #noobsupport. WE HAVE ALL BEEN NEW. Old Tengaged paved the way for y'all, and we earned the right to parade around talking about Old Tengaged, how all the #noobs just don't get it, and for God's Sake, a deserved Stars win. Respect is earned, not given.
Old Tengaged: Keep Being Awesome, but remember again, respect is earned, not given.
That is all Tengaged.
Oh, and tagging mack3199 so he reads this. Because I miss him.
The reason I am not going to play another stars has to do with this. There is absolutely no appreciation shown toward players who have good gameplay. It has always been somewhat about popularity as well but now it is 100% that way. Just look at the last 3 stars winners. Nothing against any of them but they all fall under the category of the newer tengaged that has thrived because of this #noobsupport. I hate that this new age on Tengaged has driven out all the veterans and really made this site something to dread instead of enjoy
unkown, i think you joined right before I took a break, so I really don't know you. But tbf, I don't know many people anymore, and most people don't know me.
#noobpower I don't think any noob says someone shouldnt win because they are star level. Nor do I think any noob says that high levels don't understand what it's like to be a noob.
But tv stars often have an attitude of looking down on noobs at times and I think thats what noobs are complaining about.
As shown in the example blog you provided. Nytrell never said any of the items you put in paraphrases but was merely asking for respect and for people to stop shoving noobs around.
+15 ... Probally the truest blog I have ever seen. I'm an old schooler and just got third in stars over somebody who sheeped me and admitted they didn't deserve to win. So yea, I'm done with stars as well.
I remember you don't worry we were great friends (hopefully we still kind of Are)
Anyways I totally agree with this I remember my first stars when it was for gold plus but I joined as a silver level (because it went down) and valdamien can agree that I sucked at it. But I have improved as I have joined more games and learned my ways around here.
I know I am not liked then and still for my mistakes but I do think that the new players being all cocky thinking that they Re going to be the top dogs while being bottom bitches is stupid.
Also I have tried meeting new noobs and they were rude to me so idk I try.
DisneyGeek, well you joined a few months after me, so I'd say you are probably more old generation than new. I feel like 2012 was when thing started to changed for the worse. Can't be too sure though.
I just have to say two things, one yes everyone was a noon but being a noon nowadays is different then it was back in let's say 11' so that should be noted.
Secound, I vote noons cause obvi its harder for them to play stars with the current stigma of noobs
I agree with this and all but the one thing that I can not stand is when noobs are shot down. Like in a frookies it ALMOST (Yes almost) always seems like the first ppl u think if creating an alliance with is with a higher lvl. That bugs me. Or in a casting when u are like saying hi and trying to make convo. The tv stars just talk with each other and act like they didn't even see u. Ik that not all higher lvls are like this but it sure feels like it. rdesch1
End of the day. Who really gives a fuck? and if you are going to get your knickers in a twist over a silly little online game then you really need to get out more....
i agree rdesch1 i have been on this site off and on, since 09 but the whole cast of stars play their game on skype or other websites, no game play is shown in the comments section so when known players go up its a popularity contest, stars in my opinion out dated for the current players
Noob support does get annoying but we all have to remember we WERE noobs at one point.
Actually the only thing that bothers me is when a lower level doesn't even TRY in the game, then literally includes in their speech "I'm a noob so you should save me" and stays because of that
Very well said. This makes perfect logical sense and I completely agree. That being said, a lot of people on this site don't respond well to people who make logical sense! Lol
I don't consider myself as a noob or a vet. I've been here over a year, on the verge of tv star, never played stars, but I can imagine that the newer players who actually do well in stars do so because they are smart players. And I agree people who advance to higher levels do so because they have good strategy. Not everyone is cut out for stars, some vets suck at strategy, and some noobs are great at it. Your color level is pretty irrelevant.
I just have to say two things, one yes everyone was a noon but being a noon nowadays is different then it was back in let's say 11' so that should be noted.

This is exactly what he's saying, you're voting for a noob if they make the final or if they are nominated even though who the noob is against is PROBABLY playing a better game. No one is good at their first stars. You should vote based on who you think can turn the game around, and who is playing the best game.
shayybayy why is everyone focused on noobpower because before this it didnt matter who was playing the better game as it was a popularity contest where people where the biggest tengaged celebrity would win regardless if they played a better game....Its like comparing actual Big Brother strategies Noob Power is like being a floater and you can win bb15 Andy or bb3 Lisa that way, Being a popularity threat is like well say being a comp threat and you can win bb14 Rachel that way, or you can be a good strategist which honestly i never know who is in stars since they all say the same thing in blogs and such but that would be like playing a good mental game making right moves like bb2 or bb10 Dan
rdesch1 I completely get what your saying, but personally I have never voted for noob support in stars and I would be considered a "Noob" Even though I have been on this site for over two years. The only difference between me and some other players that are higher leveled, is money, speaking as to the fact that a lot of players, instead of earning their way to higher levels, just buy the t's, which isn't wrong. but let's say there is a higher level player who is playing in stars that has only been on the site for a few months, and bought there t's for color leveling, and a player who has been on for three years, and worked hard to get to stars, you're saying the player who has been on longer should be voted into the block for being a noob, and not knowing the game that well? I'm just saying everyone should have a shot, regardless of level, cause that's just ridiculous. I mean......Equality!
Oh, and I almost forgot. I have nothign against many players, but I agree with some people on here to the fact that a lot of higher level players treat noobs wrongly. Myself, Nerdbird, and Maya10 made vlogs earlier in the year and a blog was made about it stating: What's with all these noobs making Vlogs, they should stop! And yes, it was made by a higher level player. I just don't get why the level matters so much, when someone can play like 15 games, win, then buy t's and become a non noob, and that could take as little as a month in time. Were all people here, and we should be treated equally. I don't agree with the noobs saying noobs should win for being noobs. I just think everyone should be treated a bit more equally
the pettiness of new tengaged is off the charts
but then we realize that old tengaged has grown up 3+4+5 years
and new tengaged can start as early as age 13, there is bound to be multiple clashes of personality
kkoster001. I feel like you read my entire blog as TV Stars v. the world, when it was clearly about the new v old generation. Not everyone in Old Tengaged is TV Star, and not everyone is new generation is lower level, my point is, you can't say we all deserve equality in the game, when the whole point is to be a better player. I wouldn't say just because someone got TV Star faster is necessarily the better player over the three-year player, but the vote should be based on the gameplay and not the level or status of a player in relation to the website. Yes, everyone has a shot to win, the point of the matter is, did you play a game worthy of the win?
Exactly. I agree I was just saying that level shoupdn't matter when it comes to vote in. If the noob plays a good game they shouldnt be voted in for their level.
good read rdesch1!
Unfortunately I think the mindset enforced by new tengaged in general is going to remain the same no matter how aware noobs or vets are in terms of their behavior towards one another.
The nature of it is that some people of higher or lower status are going to discriminate people of the opposite status simply because they portray things as too black and white to realize we can all just work together to achieve a common goal. That's just how some people are.
It sucks that some people won't even be willing to work together with or give support to somebody "different" from them, but it's no different irl. Some people just have shitty attitudes. Not much can be done about it!
