A day of greatness, or the saddest day of your life, today, is reaping day. 24 tributes, ages 12-18 are put in a pool to be drafted for The Hunger Games. Let’s tune in to District 1 to see who our very first tributes of this year’s Hunger Games are.
Welcome, to the 60th annual Hunger Games! I’ll be your host, Margaret Jones. As always, ladies first! She reaches her hand into the glass bowl full of names, and reads out the name “Marissa!” Marissa rushes up to the screen, and gives a dazzling smile to the cheering audience. “And now, for the male representative.” She reaches into the boys bowl, and pulls out a name “Kris” Kris walks over to the stage, looks upon the audience, and gives a wave. Kris goes over to Marissa and shakes her hand. “These are your District 1 tributes” says Margaret.
Kris (District 1, 15 years old)
Glad to have been selected for the Hunger Games, however I wish I could’ve been a bit older, because of course at the time, I’m only 15 years old. I have to team up with the careers at least in the beginning. I think I have very good potential in these games. I will certainly try my best, and bring home the victory.
*Capitol News Telecast* Hello, and welcome to the reaping summarization. We just showed you the District 1 reaping, and now we will announce the names of the rest of the tributes. From District 1, Kris and Marissa, District 2, Avalon and Dani, and District 3, Tyson and Lexi. “My pick to win from the first 6 tributes announced, would have to be Dani. She’s the oldest of the careers, and already seem battle ready. At the age of 17, my pick to go the furthest in the games is Dani from District 2.”
Dani (District 2, 17 years old)
Finally got my chance to participate in these games. I’m not afraid to do anything in these games, and will do whatever it takes to make it to the finals. I hope the rest of the careers are as ready as me to win these games. I want to get everyones best effort. I’m coming home as the queen of The Hunger Games.
*Capitol News Telecast* Next up, are the tributes from Districts 4-6. We have Devin and Lydia from District 4, Elliot and Sophia from District 5, and Parker and Emma from District 6. Our pick goes to Devin. The only male career from these group of tributes. Weighing in at 279 and 6’5, Devin will be hard to beat.
Elliot (District 5, 14 years old)
Honestly, I’m sort of excited to get into these games. It will sure be better than the awful life I’ve got at home. I’m right in the middle of 9 children, and my parents don’t care the slightest about me. I know I’m probably not the biggest or the strongest, but this is my opportunity to prove myself to myself and others around me.
*Capitol News Telecast* We are back once again, announcing the next 6 tributes. From district 7, we have Julian, as well as Baylor. Kennedy and Naomi are representing District 8. And for District 9, we have Ron and Leslie. Honestly we really did struggle to come up with a good pick from these districts. However, we decided upon Ron. Ron, from District 8 has to take care of his 4 siblings on his own, thus will have a ton of motivation moving forward. He’s not necessarily the biggest or strongest teenager though.
Ron (District 9, 16 years old)
I…just can’t believe this… I’m going to win these games for my siblings back at home. I can’t even believe this is happening. This is absolutely the worst nightmare of my life. I need to figure survival skills out super quickly. We aren’t in District 9 anymore.
Naomi (District 8, 13 years old)
Why do these games even exist to begin with. These people are so awful, and it makes me sick. I have absolutely no chance in these games, but I’ll sure put up a hell of a good fight. No going back right? Game on, let’s do this!
*Capitol News Telecast* Finally, we have our final 6 tributes. These tributes, are from the districts in which produce the least amount of winners in the 59 previous Hunger Games. From District 10, we have Carlos and Evelyn. Frederick and Dana from District 11. And finally, Andy and Donna from District 12. Frederick is our pick to come out on top from these Districts. He’s very strong, and quiet determined.
Carlos (District 10, 17 years old)
I just can’t do this. It’s against my whole character. Killing other people is just absurd to me. My whole survival skills may be able to get me through though, and just outlast the rest. I really can’t kill anyone though. I am not looking forward to this whatsoever.
