Joshgillespie: Tolerate It - Taylor Swift
T: Interesting song. The lyrics were solid, but I felt like the song was very disjointed. The piano and instrumental didn’t really mesh well with vocals - almost like she was purposely trying to sing on off beats. That kind of made it a hard song to listen to for me.
B: I’m shocked at my co-host’s comments here. This is one of Taylor’s masterpieces and the meaning in this song is heart wrenching! Well done!
Valgarfield: Born This Way - Lady Gaga
T: While it’s far from being my favorite Gaga song, it’s still a nice, catchy dance song. The message is good, and it’s definitely a bop that I wouldn’t be mad about hearing in a club or on the radio.
B: This is a bit of an anthem and definitely a song that a lot of people can relate to! It’s a great dancey and uplifting song and I love that!
BBLover96: Breaking Your Own Heart - Kelly Clarkson
T: A Kelly song I haven’t heard before - nice! She has such a great voice. I actually really dig the slow country rock vibe this has.
B: oh Kelly snaps doesn’t she?!? I love this one from her!
Kingjames13: The Lazy Song - Bruno Mars
T: So I’m not a Bruno Mars fan in the slightest. This song is catchy, and on a lazy day, it is certainly relatable. But it’s really a song I can listen to on a regular basis without getting kind of annoyed.
B: I loved Bruno Mars back in the day but his songs were so overplayed for me and this one, great music video, and clever lyrics but a bit bland overall for me.
Chels052_: Broken and Beautiful - Kelly Clarkson
T: Honestly, love that you picked this because it’s so you. It has the EDM influence, but the beats actually really compliment her. Sometimes, I find EDM beats pretty overpowering in songs (which I suppose is kind of the point), but it really works here.
B: I agree with Tim here, this is such a you song which I love! Kelly really works with the beat and she does not disappoint!
