Players, this is the Deep Loch. Within this ancient lake, guarded by demons, lies up to 5 rings to be won by each warrior. The deeper you go into the loch to retrieve these rings, the greater your prize. But in consequence, the deeper you go, the HARDER you’ll find it to escape.
Each round I will post three letters i.e. ‘TRE’, and you will have 30 seconds to MAIL me back the longest ONE word you can make, starting OR ending in those three letters. i.e. TREachery or cenTRE.
Remember you can only send ONE word, and like previous challenges, it must follow the same Dictionary.com word rules.
For each letter in your word, you will dive into the Deep Loch by 1 notch.
To win rings, you must hit certain notch targets.
This is the important part.
When you think you have gone deep enough into the loch, you can exit the challenge and swim to the surface with you rings, by posting -SWIMS TO SURFACE- and -CLAIMS RINGS- in two separate posts on the forum (spelt correctly and with the hyphens). You will win the number of rings equivalent to the number of notches you got to at that point.
NOTE: You can exit the loch at ANY point in the challenge. You do not have to wait for a round’s results, HOWEVER you’ll only win rings equivalent to the score on my latest publicly posted tally. So it may be worth waiting for me to post them rather than bailing when you’ve just sent a word - it won’t have been added yet.
However, you do not want to leave exiting the loch too late, as the last TWO players to exit the loch will be attacked by the demon, each losing a life and any rings claimed.
So, you must weigh up how deep you want to go for more rings, with when you want to bail out to make sure you don’t lose what you have achieved.
