Welcome to tonight's LIVE Face Off.
Tonight you are playing Island Hopper.
In this Face Off, you will each be placed in the corner of a 12x12 grid with each space representing an island. Your goal is to traverse the islands to be the last one left standing. Here is how it works.
On your turn you will have 2 options:
1. You may move TWO spaces in any direction (up, left, right, down, diagonal). You may move in 2 different directions (left then up) or 2 spaces in the same direction (left then left again). If you move, you MUST move 2 spots and CANNOT move only once.
2. You may sink another island meaning you choose ANY SPACE on the board that does not have a current player on it and sink it.
When a space has been sunk it cannot be stepped on again. In addition, when a player has traveled on an island it will automatically sink.
When you finish on a space (island), you can stay on that space for a MAX of 2 turns before it sinks and you sink with it. That means at MOST you can finish your turn on the same space for TWO CONSECUTIVE TURNS. If on the 3rd consecutive turn you are still on that space you will sink with that island and be eliminated. You cannot jump over sunken islands and if you run out of islands to travel on you are also eliminated.
Due to the island sinking rules, that means you are NOT ALLOWED to sink an island on consecutive turns because you will sink and be eliminated that way.
In addition, on your 1st turn you MUST move and cannot sink an island.
On each turn, a player will have 3 minutes to make a move by either:
1. Posting which two spaces they travel on (A1, A2) in order
2. Post which space they attack and thus sink (SINK B3)
If a player does not make a move in the 3 minutes they simply waste their turn BUT that turn counts towards the island they are on sinking. So if you miss two turns, you are ELIMINATED. If you sink an island one turn and then miss the next, you are ELIMINATED.
This will continue until only 1 player is left standing.
The starting placements and turn order have been randomly decided.
You will post all moves here but the board will be able to be viewed here:
