"Just Words"

Hello, Top 9! Welcome to your photoshoot this week. For today's shoot, Judge Reece will be sitting out and replacing him for the week, you've met him already, NTM19's very own winner, Jackson. Your photoshoot for the week is inspired most recently by Cycle 10: The Apprentice photoshoot.

For today's shoot, you will embark on a captivating journey where you must breathe life into simple yet evocative words. Each of you (on a first-come, first-pick basis) will select a word from a curated list, words such as "Legit," "New," "Blossom," or other intriguing options. Your mission is to translate these words into visually stunning and expressive photos, showcasing your ability to convey abstract concepts through imagery.

It's an opportunity for you to showcase your creativity, adaptability, and depth as you transform simple words, or should I say - just words, into captivating shots.

With Guinevere's advantage, she was allowed to assign a word (also from the pool of words) to one model.... and he chose ALTON who will be getting the word..... "LEGIT"

Chanel Iman - Leader

chanel as a leader. Chanel shows us this word as "first lady" ! A strict white look, imposing and at the same time very elegant as befits a first lady. The first image of a leader is the one that counts and here Chanel definitely catches your eye. Although it is a photo , we can see the dynamism of a leader walking with confidence, As well as her commanding gaze shouting "I know what I'm doing". Who wouldn't follow her seeing her? As soon as you see the picture, you feel a sense of confidence about this leader you are facing. Confidence and Dynamism are the elements that prevail! Her look and her walk show a leader

Guinevere - mystery

The word I have decided to go with mystery. And as a huge fan of watching movies, I wanted to incorporate a sense of cinematic mysterious atmosphere in my photoshoot.

Guinevere is seen looking distraught and melancholic about the mysterious presence of two figures wearing masks in her own house. She is hugging tightly her son not knowing what's about to unfold, and that's the true mystery of this photoshoot. Another mysterious element that can be mentioned is the two figures hiding their faces, so their identities are totally unknown to us, keeping the mystery unfolded.

This photoshoot truly encapsulates the word "mystery", as we as audience are left in the dark, wondering what's going on and what's about to happen, a mysterious cliffhanger to hopefully a not so tragic ending to our beloved Guinevere.

Alton Mason is a #LEGIT creative model and I can prove it. My word means legal, right, truthful, valid, good and others so basically legit can be used to refer something that is real. Before I explain my shoot I want to ask you to put your right thumb on top of my face legitimately hiding that. After this, answer to yourself "if this shoot were released like that only with the shadows would you guess it was Alton Mason?" some people maybe yes they could guess it right however others probably wouldn't. That's the point I want to bring up. The shadows covering my body on my shoot means a doubtful feeling, mystery, something questionable and unknown. Then we have the little beam of light only touching my face which comes to confirm who is that person, who i legit am. We don't needed a lot of details to get into this concept since my face is unique and with half of that being showed you can definitely recognize who's posing here. I also kept the hair I used for the last challenge for two reasons: 1) during all the competition I was used to have a short haircut, when I got to perform with a different one I had the worst performance 2) but even with that happening I want to show that I'm still a legit interesting hard worker and creative model who's able to express feelings or even just words on every single material submitted.

Hunter Schafer - "Money"

Here I am referencing the draining and deceitful struggle to be financially well-off in consumer and capitalist societies, such as America. But at what cost, and for what ultimate goal? In this photo, Hunter is drained physically and emotionally with closed eyes, a limp pose, a stark-white face, and a grey backdrop, indicative of the lack of self-care and awareness of the world around them.

However, Hunter is dressed in the most extravagant red, white, and blue suit, touching on the working expectations of those in America. It is the most striking and prominent feature about the photo, but all else is dead around them. Moreover, careful attention to the photo reveals that the focal point of the shot is the suit, not the face, as if there is a loss of self identity that the material item consumes. Hustling for material items at the sacrifice of your own physical, mental, and social health. All there is to show for it is a fancy suit.

I think it was intentional to also have Hunter appear as more masculine, by having the oversized suit to lengthen the torso and the styling of the hair. This also alludes to the gender imbalance that exists and needs to be bridged in historic working class America and wage where men felt the pressure more to over succeed and become miserable, ruining their life at home and family.

Violet Chachki: Polished

Polished is defined as refined, sophisticated, or elegant. Polished is definitely near and dear to a person like me because I’ve been called polished a couple of times. To be a polished queen is to notice the little details and look out together. When you become polished, you become very visually appealing.

In this photo I am giving very much elegant and polished. I am well put together for sure.

KAI - Heartbreak
I am known as a sensitive, emotional, empathetic, friendly character in the house. I get emotional with my friends, shoots or seeing others get upset.

Even though I am physically strong looking and always composed, my heart is pretty soft and fragile. If you want to break me you need to aim at my heart.

I can tolerate some critiques or scores  or placements even if I may not agree with them and stay levelheaded. But what breaks me is when I have to say goodbye to people close to my heart.

The house saw a glimpse of this broken-hearted Kai with departures of my dear friends Mia & Jonathan.

But for todays shot my heartbreak goes deeper. It was when I heard the news about my good friend Moonbin’s  passing while I was in military. My last interaction with him  was a month before that when I thanked him for supporting my new song Rover.
Just including that memory here. 💔

His sudden passing has me heartbroken to date. I wanted to incorporate how I felt upon hearing the dreadful news.

In the shot, I am seen with swollen eyes and messy hair. Just in my pajamas laying down near a memorial they had for my friend. Feeling the weight of a heartbroken heart, my grief is too great to not care about who would see me like this. I am much too sad right now to be bothered by trivial things. Even though the flowers around me have dried out, this heartbreak will forever be a part of me.
