This club is for anybody who likes to debate.  We will be posting fair and moderated debates in this group, and it'll give everybody a chance to express there beliefs!

Rules:
1.)No personal attacks
2.)Only two people will debate at a time. (Unless otherwise stated)
3.) Don't post on a debate you're not in during the debating period.
4.)The point of a debate is to learn not what people believe, but why.  Try to keep an open mind with something you may not agree with!

How it works:

General debate-
A general debate will begin with two people givi g their introductory statements.  They will each give a rebuttal, a second rebuttal, and closing statements.  Once the debating period is over you will vote based either on a poll or on a list of criteria.

Discussion style debate-
This debate is more of a back and forth thing.  Usually begins with two debators, and they have a conversation until they feel as if the debate is ready to be concluded.

Jury style debate -
For  some of our bigger debates, we will use jury style.  Jury debates are like general debates except that all voting is done by a jury of 5, selected by me based on a criteria to make it as fair as possible.

Points-
1 point for completing a debate
2 points for winning a debate
3 points for competing in a jury debate
7 points for winning a jury debate.
Points may also be given by staff if we feel like somebody deserves it for being respectful etc.

Rewards-
3 points - verified.  Verified means you are known as a good senator.  You can compete in special debates that others can't.  You will have a better chance of getting into these debates and jury.
10 points- Pro debater.  Access to very special debates.
15 points - eligible for moderation.  You can come join the staff here at debate club!
