Jeff Probst: “Previously on Survivor! 16 brand new castaways started the journey of a lifetime on the beautiful island of Futuna. The game started when this season’s twist was introduced! Reward challenges this season would be 1 vs. 1 duels, much like in San Juan del Sur. In a surprising outcome, Devin from the Sibu tribe won the reward against the largest castaway, Rhameen on the Aoba tribe. At both camps, the guys seemed to all bond very well and formed alliances with each other, with the exception of Joseph who felt alone. And after Kayley accidentally burned some of the tribe’s rice, an argument ensued between her and Rhameen, which to people on their tribe was humorous. Devin knew that this was Survivor and idol clues were lurking around somewhere, so he looked in the tribe’s extra bag of rice he won and found the clue, which lead him to find the actual idol. At the immunity challenge, Aoba pulled ahead, but one screw up by Lisa cost them the win. The all Guys alliance started to crumble when they could not decide on who to vote on. Ultimately, the girls and Matthew banded together to get out Mitch, who was seen as irrational, and blindsided Kenny who had no idea what was going on. 15 people are left. Who will be voted out tonight?
~*AOBA*~ Night 3
The remaining Aoba tribe walk back into camp and set their torches down. Matthew immediately pulls Kenny aside.
Jeff: “Come on in guys! … Sibu, getting your first look at the Aoba tribe … Mitch voted out at the last tribal council.”
Leanne: “Who?”
Nicole: “Old guy.”
Leanne: “Oh.”
Nicole rolls her eyes.
Jeff: “For today’s reward challenge, one member of each tribe will be balancing a ball on a long pole while maneuvering through certain obstacles. The first person to get three balls through all of the obstacles and into the basket wins reward for their tribe! Want to know what you’re playing for?”
They all say “Yes.”
Jeff: “This is a big one… fishing gear! We have a net, a spear, two poles, and some hooks. Choose who you want to represent your tribes now.
The Aoba tribe chooses Alexis and the Sibu tribe chooses Lea. The two take their places.
Jeff: “Survivors ready?” They reply with a serious “Yes,” and begin.
Alexis moves very quickly while Lea is taking her time.
Jeff: “Alexis drops!”
Lea, moving smooth and steady gets one in, without dropping it once.
Jeff: “Wow, and Lea gets one in on her first try!”
The Sibu tribe cheers her on.
Lisa: “Come on Alexis you got this!”
Alexis: “I’m trying you guys.”
Jeff: “Lea moving very slowly.”
Lea drops her ball, leaving a door for Alexis.
Jeff: “It looks like Alexis is catching the hang of this!”
Alexis: “Oh my golly I’m doing it.”
Jeff: “Lea still moving very slowly. While Alexis is flying through this challenge! Alexis scores another!
Lea drops her ball again!
Jeff: “Lea drops again! Pick up the pace!”
Lea panics and drops the ball again.
Jeff: “Alexis, inches away from winning!”
Alexis: “Eek!”
Alexis drops her final ball into the bucket.
Jeff: “Alexis wins reward for the Aoba tribe!”
The Aoba tribe roars with excitement while Alexis runs over to hug them all.
Jeff: “And with that, Aoba has won their first challenge!”
They cheer once again and grab their reward.
Jeff: “Sibu, got nothing for you, head back to camp.”
The camera pans to Leanne braiding Nicole’s hair and giving her a massage.
Lea: “Tell me. Why did you do that?”
Shayla: “Lea I can’t take her anymore! I can’t take her or her minion Leanne or everyone sucking up to her like they owe her something! I can’t take it!
Lea and Shayla discuss their hatred for Nicole and Leanne. They both sit on the beach and talk for the rest of the day.
~*Aoba*~ Day 4
Cheers ensue again over Alexis’s huge victory for the tribe. They all pretend to worship her and bow down to her with the exception to Kayley who went to get water.
Kayley unravels the fishing net and out falls a clue to the idol. She quickly picks it up before anyone notices. The idol clue is the same as Devin’s. She pretends to go to the bathroom and looks for the idol. After only 5 minutes of searching, Kayley finds it!
Joseph tells Alexander how alone he feels in this game and how he has no one. Alexander tells him of the F3 alliance of him, Jordan, and Devin and offers him a spot. Joseph gladly takes the deal.
Jeff takes back immunity and explains the challenge. Facing one on one, the castaways will be battling sumo-style, using patted sticks to knock their opponent off. The first team to 4 points wins immunity.
Jeff: “The first duel. Rhameed vs. Devin; the first two people to duel for reward. This should be good. Survivors ready! Go!”
Rhameed immediately charges Devin and knocks him off instantly to everyone’s surprise.
Jeff: “Well then… Aoba 1, Sibu zip”
The second duel is between Shayna and Lisa. Shayna knocks Lisa hard in the face, but Lisa fights back. Shayna ultimately gets Lisa by her back and shoves her off.
Jeff: “Tied. 1 to 1.”
The next duel is Matthew and Alexander. Both take hard hits, but Alexander manages to push Matthew off first.
Jeff: “Sibu 2, Aoba 1!”
Next is Nicole and Alexis. Nicole runs full force at Nicole and hits her stomach hard. Alexis’s reaction was to say “geez-louise.” Nicole got a few more knocks to the stomach in before pushing her off.
Jeff: “Sibu 3, Aoba 1! Sibu can win it right here!”
The next duel is Jordan and Kenny. Kenny runs full force towards Jordan, but Jordan ducks and Kenny almost flies off on the platform. Jordan then runs to push Kenny off but Kenny quickly gets up and pushed Jordan back, ultimately pushing Jordan into the water.
Jeff: “3 to 2!”
Next up is Leanne vs. Kayley. Although Leanne is significantly bigger than Kayley, Kayley managed to get Leanne on her back. Kayley tried her hardest to push, but Leanne got back up. Both were face to face when Kayley quickly hit her face, then her legs, knocking her to the ground, and off of the platform.
Jeff: “That’s how you play! Things are all tied up! The next point wins immunity!”
The last battle was Rhameen vs. Joseph. Rhameen blinked at Joseph as if he was nothing, and Rhameen took Joseph off of the table like it was nothing.
Jeff: “Aoba wins Immunity!”
Aoba jumps and cheers while Rhameen does a flip into the water. Joseph slowly swims to his tribe’s platform while Jeff throws the Immunity Idol to Rhameen.
Jeff: “Sibu, got nothing for you, head back to camp, see you at tribal tonight.”
Back at camp, everyone awkwardly started talking around camp. Shayla pulled Joseph aside to talk to him. They begin talking and Shayla apologizes for not being there for him the past couple of days. Joseph apologizes too because he didn’t comfort her when she was having hard times dealing with Nicole. They both hug and begin to start talking strategy. They discuss and agree that Nicole should be the one going.
Alexander then explains why he thinks Leanne is a better choice because of her lack of physicality and little contribution to the tribe, but gets interrupted when Nicole and Leanne come up to him and ask to speak with him alone.
Alexander: “He was just apologizing to me for doing so poorly in the challenge.”
Nicole: “Oh O.K., he’s kind of the reason I wanted to talk to you about.
Nicole then explains why Joseph should go, with Leanne there right by her side. Once the conversation breaks up, Alexander is feeling perplexed. He gathers the original guys alliance of himself, Devin, and Jordan to discuss what is the best option for them all.
Devin: “I think Nicole’s got a point. Joseph doesn’t have any connections with anyone on the tribe. He doesn’t help around camp, he isn’t good at challenges, I think he should go.
Jordan: “Yeah I agree man. He is pretty useless at everything.”
Alexander then goes on to explain how they need numbers and Joseph can be a number for them moving forward, while Leanne will do what Nicole says, not them.
Jeff: “Welcome to Tribal Council. Behind each of you is a torch, grab one and approach the flame and get fire because in this game, fire represents your life.”
Each castaway grabs a torch, lights it, and takes a seat.
Jeff: “So… Leanne, explain how the first 6 days have been so far.”
Leanne: “So far they’ve been way better than I had ever imagined. I met my great friend Nicole and we’ve been inseparable since Day 3.”
Shayla: “Literally.”
Nicole flips her hair.
Jeff: “What do you mean Shayla?”
Shayla: “I mean they have literally been inseparable. If one goes up to pee, the other goes with them, if one’s back itches, they scratch each other’s back. It’s annoying.”
Lea rubs Shayla’s leg to calm her down.
Jeff: “Do these two have history Joseph?”
Joseph: “Oh yeah, they got into quite the argument once by the fire.”
Jeff: “What was it about Nicole?”
Nicole: “I have no idea… she attacked me for some unknown reason, I still have no clue why she did what she did.”
Shayla bites her bottom lip and shakes her head.
Shayla: “Can we please move on before I get disqualified from this game.”
Jeff: “Alexander, what does the vote look like tonight?”
Alexander: “Well, I’ve heard two people’s names going around and I’m sure everyone else here has too. I’m voting who I think will benefit me and everyone around me. And I hope everyone is basing their vote the same way I am.”
Jeff: “O.K., time to vote, Leanne, you’re first.
Nicole shows her vote that says Joseph. “You should be going tonight. I hope people aren’t stupid enough to keep you around.”
Alexander shows his vote and says, “sorry. I went with my gut on this one… good luck in life.”
Everyone has voted and Jeff tallies the votes
Jeff: “Once the votes are read, the decision is final, the person voted out must leave the Tribal Council area immediately, I’ll read the votes…
Jeff: “And the second person voted out of Survivor: Futuna, Leanne. Please bring me your torch.”
Shayla blows a kiss goodbye, Joseph is still praying, Nicole frowns and draws a tear on her face with her finger. Leanne does the same back to Nicole.
Jeff: “Leanne, the tribe has spoken. *Snuffs torch* “Time for you to go.”
Leanne waves goodbye to everyone
Jeff: “I saw some shocked faces here tonight, and this is only the beginning, so I’d get used to it. Head back to camp, goodnight.”
(Exit Interview) Leanne: Well poop. I didn’t stay as long as I hoped, but hey, that’s life. I wish my tribe the best and I want Nicole to stay as strong as possible. Hopefully the tribe won’t die of boredom without me there.”
