Ever wonder why this seems to be the case. It is because you can only comprehend eternity by associating it with the longest amount of time you yourself have experienced, which of course is your entire life. From the time you became conscious (birth) to the present moment, which is always moving forward in time. So therefore your perception of eternity is constantly expanding while the time frame of a year is not. So a year, to a 100 year old man, is 1% of eternity, while a year, to 1 5 year old is 20% of eternity.
In a fairly recent interview Noam Chomsky has cited concern over similarities between the Nazi's rise to power over Germany in the 1930's and the current right wing neo-conservative movement within the USA today. This movement is spear headed by the likes of Rush Limbaugh as well as televangalist's such as Pat Roberts speaking to a large audience of supporters throughout America.
Their tendancy to blame America's economic problems on immigrants coming in and the governments "passive stance towards them" rather than focusing on the real problem, deregulation of the marketplace in the last few decades, mirrors that of the Nazi's scapegoating of Jews for Germany's problems 80 years ago.
Their gross exagerration of the terrorist threat and their solution to increase American military intervention over seas mirrors that of the Nazi's propaganda of foreign threats to Germany's national security from the likes of Poland, Britain, Russia etc and the need to wage war against those countries.
Sarah Palin is one of the more well known politicians apart of this movement and there is talk of her being the Republican candidate for the elections of 2012.
Ive noticed alot of blogs on here dealing with homosexuality so I decided to throw in my 2 cents.
First of all I dont beleive in any form of organized religion so any arguement regarding any so called "facts" written in the bible are dissmissed on that pretense from my point of view.
I dont beleive anyone is born homosexual or straight, people are born beleiving the opposite sex has cooties. Certain experiences throughout our childhood and our individual internalizations of those experiences leading up to puberty determine whether or not we wil be straight or homosexual in my opinion. So therefore people are not either born homosexual or choose to be homosexual.
Certain laws on being the ban on gay marriage as well as others, along with the general treatment of homosexuals within or society are extremley unfortunate. I beleive that the discrimination against homosexuals will be looked back upon as an embarrasment and will be compared to the treatment of blacks (compared to NOT the same as).
P.S. I am not gay I just support the homosexual communitys right to be looked upon in a non discriminatory manner.
