I am in complete shock right now. Plus very pissed off. Long story short... Me and my family were going through a rough time about 2-3 years ago. We were in between houses and in the end we stored some of our belongings at a family friends house. He was also helping us out with finding a new place to live.
So a while goes by and we were always trying to minimize what we had stored at his house, since we went from a house to an apartment. There was a falling through and we weren't really on speaking terms anymore, but we still had our stuff there.
We got a phone call from him a couple days ago about picking up our stuff. We decided to go over there today, me and my mom. So we show up, he opens his garage and all that was there was 4 big containers. Everything else that we stored (which included a microwave, a computer with all of our information on it, a tv, my dad's dad's personally belongings which included a suitcase w/his coat and a flag from his funeral) was all gone. We asked where everything went.. He replied with, "I got rid of all that junk".
We are just pissed. He didn't notify us of anything and knowing him, he probably kept majority of our stuff and has it stored in his basement. But I think my dad is the one pissed out of all of us. The only thing that he has from his dad still is a hat. When the 3 items that meant the most to him are now gone.
Some people have no respect for themselves why would they have respect for others those people personal belogings.. material things are always replaceable, but I can see why your dad is the most pissed, more than the items themselves its the memory of it..... it still sucks donkey balls though. =(
