Bottom 100 Pokemon (100-96)

Sep 8, 2016 by Icarus_Mark
With the Bottom 100 picked out, it is time to begin the list.  There were some Pokemon that were hard to put over others, and others I think were probably a victim of circumstance.  Anyway, here is the 5 Pokemon that will be kicking off the list.  Enjoy!

100. Dusknoir – Now, I know Dusknoir looks cool, and I love its cry.  But there is one thing in particular that I could not ignore about Dusknoir, and that is, if you pick a computer ally for the Battle Maison, Dusknoir is treacherous!  Since its moves are all status moves if you are aligned with one at the Battle Maison, yes, he will inflicted status moves on your opponents such as Burn or Paralysis, but guess what!  He also does it to you too!  It’s a great defensive Pokemon, don’t get me wrong.  I just like Pokemon I have or Pokemon my ally has to NOT try to kill me.  That’s all I ask of you Dusknoir.

99. Unfezant – Here is your only regional bird to make this list.  I’m not a huge fan of Swellow either, but I found that I was just disappointed with Unfezant, especially since, to me anyway, Tranquill was the much more memorable Pokemon in that line.  It’s really telling when your middle evolution makes you kind of forget about its final form and you’re left disappointed.

98. Huntail – Of Clamperl’s evolutions, Gorebyss far outshines Huntail in design.  In fact, I don’t really like Huntail’s design at all.  It’s too bleh for me to really care about it.  But that’s really its only reason for even being on the list besides being forgettable.

97. Barbaracle – Barbaracle is basically on the same boat as Huntail, except this is the only final form we get of Binacle.  I do give this points for being used by Siebold of the Kalos Elite Four, but remember, this is SIEBOLD who uses it, the guy who will yell at you if you answer “No” to his question he asks you at the Pokemon League right before you face him.

96. Unown – This was gonna appear somewhere on here, but you’re probably wondering how this isn’t much further down the list, maybe towards the end.  Well, let’s begin with why it’s even here in the first place.  Its only move in the main games is Hidden Power, which can be learned by a LOT of Pokemon now, making Unown useless.  Its stats suck balls too.  So, it’s an infamous Pokemon.  But now let’s get into why it’s not any higher on the list.  Of all the gimmicks you can give Unown, the alphabet thing actually really appealed to me when this first came out.  Even to this day I can see them being used for really interesting spooky purposes.  I also watched Pokemon 3 a lot as a 10-year-old (that’s about when this came out), so Unown was pretty relevant to me at the time.  And one last thing.  You know how it only has Hidden Power?  Well, in fan-made games, you can actually buff that up a little.  It is the perfect Pokemon to give Custom Moves to, AND in Pokemon Zeta/Omicron, it can learn the HM move Tesseract, which is needed to get to the final stage of the Vesryn Region.  So yeah, these reasons keep Unown from being any higher on the list, but as much as I wanted to leave Unown alone, it couldn’t stay out of the list entirely.

100. Dusknoir
99. Unfezant
98. Huntail
97. Barbaracle
96. Unown
