Episode 6: “Flawed”
--Meanwhile—
Vixella had seen the news sometime after Spencer’s leaving and Brooke’s arrival, but was much too busy knitting to do anything at the moment she had the news on. However, after Brooke explained her situation, Vixella knew that she needed to keep whatever situations she could from going out of hand. She didn’t bring Brooke, but she used a Darkness Seal to teleport to a spot near the tree where Alycia had crashed her car into. She watched the conversation between three college kids as they discussed their powers.
Vixella: (to herself) So they have them to.
One of the boys, presumably JJ from what she has heard, sprouted angelic wings and donned a sword of holy energy.
Vixella: (still to herself) So he is a Light. A mind, a strength, and a light.
Just as Vixella made the observation, she noticed JJ’s wings control JJ up into the air due to his inability to control his powers. Then she noticed the mind getting his hand stuck to the frozen part of the tree and the strength flying up into the air to try to retrieve JJ only to fail himself.
Vixella: This is not good.
Vixella sized up the scene. She figured JJ could wait, and it was impossible to tell how much strength the strength who she heard was named “Daniel” had actually used for his jump, so he would need to be properly located. The meant the mind, who she’d heard to be “Beckett”, was going to have to be her first costumer, especially since she knew if Beckett wasn’t careful, he would freeze to death. A sword of darkness flashed from the palm of her hand outward and she walked to Beckett.
Beckett: (once Vixella arrived to where he was) Please! Help me!
Vixella examined the ice on his hand. It would need to be cut off from his body and replaced with a new one. Otherwise, Beckett would eventually die.
Vixella: (exhales deeply) I’m sorry for what I’m about to do.
Beckett: What?
Vixella raised her sword, aiming for Beckett’s wrist.
Beckett: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vixella’s sword slammed down, severing Beckett’s left hand that was frozen in the ice, then she swung her sword, getting the blood off before it disappeared. Beckett screamed in agony tried to run away from Vixella, but it was no use as Vixella had already conjured up a Darkness Seal that teleported him with her. In a matter of seconds, they were in the lounge where Brooke was. Brooke noticed Beckett’s hand was cut off.
Brooke: (explodes) WHAT DID YOU DO!?
Vixella: He was going to die if I hadn’t amputated his hand from the ice. Tend to his wounds. I have 2 more people to go get.
Brooke: Wai—
But Vixella was already on her way to her second boy. She knew that for these two, she was going to need to glide through the air and teleport before crashing into her doom, but she had a better idea of where JJ was, so she decided to go to him next. She saw light looking down to JJ as well as the ground. She readied herself before falling out of the Darkness Seal. She dove out and grabbed JJ.
JJ: Oof! Careful with the wings!
It wasn’t the cleanest of catches thanks to some of the feathers on JJ’s wings getting in her mouth and her face, but she supposed she would have to make do as she turned her eyes red again to create another Darkness Seal to dive into below. She successfully ferried JJ through the darkness and right back into her living room where Brooke was tending to Beckett, cauterizing his stump where his left hand used to be. Blood was all over the floor.
JJ: WHA—
Brooke: (interrupting) I know, Vixella amputated Beckett, but he’d have died otherwise!
JJ: STILL THOUGH! THAT’S TOO MUCH!
Vixella: Oh quit your complaining and let me try to locate Daniel. I don’t know what kind of altitude he has gained. Unless…
Vixella looked over to Beckett and made her way towards him.
JJ: STAY AWAY FROM MY BUDDY, YOU SERIAL KILLER!
Vixella: ENOUGH!
The three college students turned their heads to pay attention to Vixella.
Vixella: Arguing over Beckett is not going to save your other friend faster. All it will do is get me distracted, and then in turn, your friend could die because since he already can’t control his jump, he would not be strong enough to survive an astronomical fall and we don’t know how high he has jumped yet!
Vixella turned her attention back to Beckett as she attempted to link her mind to Beckett’s via darkness. She put a hand on Beckett’s forehead.
Vixella: Link me to your mind. Where is your friend headed?
Beckett: Alright. Just don’t amputate me anymore!
Vixella: (speaking with haste) Sure, sure!
Vivella closed her eyes as Beckett allowed her into his mind. All of a sudden and after a few moments after she probed into Beckett’s mind, Vixella collapsed onto the floor, having a seizure as she began to have a vision of where Daniel was headed. His jump took all of his energy, and all Vixella could see where stars amongst a black sea.
Vixella: (exhales dramatically) Outer space!
JJ and Brooke dropped their jaws.
Brooke: What?
Vixella: (facing Brooke) Outer space! That’s where Daniel is headed! If I don’t go get him now, he will die shortly after he leaves the Earth’s orbit.
JJ: (eyes halfway closed in disbelief) You CAN’T be serious!
Vixella’s eyes glowed red again as she looked up.
Vixella: (chanting) Darkness, take me to the heavens above and guide me to safety. The heavens need me, set me FREE!!!!!!!!!
Two feet above Vixella’s head opened something that looked like a black hole. Vixella smiled at her creation. Then she knelt, looking above into the gaping maw of the darkness that created this portal for her. Then she jumped with all her might into the black hole, which closed after she flew in. For a while, she couldn’t see anything, as was the custom with darkness. Eventually, she could see stars come into view, signaling that she was about to enter outer space. She would need to hold her breath once she got out of her Darkness Seal.
She saw Daniel and the Earth from inside the darkness. She inhaled a deep breath and dove out of the Darkness Seal. Instantly, she felt the vacuum of space begin to blow at her with great force. The struggle to keep her balance needed to retrieve Daniel was immense and trying. If she lost her direction, Daniel would die and so likely would she. What was more was that she was being pelted by rocks, debris from the asteroids. Vixella had never liked going into outer space and never went unless absolutely necessary.
She opened up her arms as she approached Daniel and intercepted him in a hug. Once she knew she had a hold of Daniel, she made her eyes glow red again and conjured up one more Darkness Seal below. ‘This is it Vixella! You must go into the darkness or you will die and fall back to Earth incinerated.’ She aimed her fall as best as she could as the vacuum and debris continued to bombard her and now Daniel.
She managed to get into the darkness, but just barely. The vacuum brought them both towards the edge of the darkness. Her back now had a burning sensation, and that was all she needed to know that, had she been blown any further off course, she would have missed the darkness and died. Now all she needed to do was imagine her living room one last time. After a while, where that black hole was became where the exit was, and when they were out of the darkness, Vixella and Daniel crashed onto the floor with Daniel on top.
Vixella: Gah!
Vixella pushed Daniel off of her and then got up and walked over to kneel next to Daniel’s face. Seconds later, he opened his eyes.
Vixella: I’m Vixella Vox. Are you okay Daniel?
Daniel: (sounding relieved) Yeah, I… guess so.
Vixella: (her voice turning much more stern) Good! This is for making me go out into outer space for you!
Daniel: Wha—
Vixella punched Daniel in the face, knocking him out.
Vixella: Hmph! This is what happens when you can’t control your powers! (she turned to Brooke) Not a SINGLE word of what just went on here. Do you understand?
Brooke: Yes!
Vixella: Good! Now (turns to JJ and Beckett) why the hell were you all out halfway to Albany anyway?
JJ: We were actually looking for Brooke here!
Brooke: (feeling touched) Oh my God! I didn’t know!
Beckett: Yeah. We figured you’d be able to help us locate where Alycia is. She’s not the type to go out to Albany unless she has to.
JJ: No offense, but it’s really Daniel you should be thanking.
Vixella: (getting impatient) And it’s you who should be leaving! Bring Daniel with you out the door.
JJ heave Daiel over his shoulder and left the house carrying an unconscious Daniel, followed by a more pissed-off Brooke. Beckett starts to get up, but Vixella stops him.
Vixella: Oh no. Not you Beckett. You stay right where you are.
Beckett: WHY!?
Vixella: Because I’m not done with you yet.
--End Scene—
Katalia lied on a well-worn bed, which told her someone had slept there. The doors and windows were all closed, with the door being locked. Brooke’s father, her captor, did not try to rape her yet, which Katalia figured was the luckiest break she’s had ever since leaving Shawn and Kitty alone in Shawn’s apartment. However, whatever situation she was in, she knew she was going to have to get out of it herself.
She remembered turning into a lion and then suddenly changing back into a human at the worst possible time, but she didn’t quite remember how. To calm herself down, she turned her focus to dogs and which kinds of dogs she thought to be the cutest. She always liked how adorable the Shih Tzu was to her and how adorably sassy they looked. As she thought of the Shih Tzu, her body began to rearrange and her eye level went down. Once she felt her body stop changing form, Katalia raised a hand only to realize it wasn’t a hand at all but the small paw of a breed of dog.
Katalia: Bark bark bark bark! ‘Did I just turn into a Shih Tzu!?’
Katalia needed a mirror got off the bed and found a mirror in the bathroom that was connected to the room she was in and got up to realize that she did indeed turn into a Shih Tzu.
Katalia: (barks multiple times) ‘Oh cool! It seems like I change into whatever animal I think of. Maybe I should practice changing animals. Then I can get the hell out of here.’
Katalia waddled back into the bedroom and started practicing her newfound powers by changing into a chimpanzee.
--End Scene—
Spencer sat on his front porch as he stole a beer out of his dad’s beer fridge, sipping away at the beer. He needed to get his mind off of everything that happened and he figured a drink to calm his senses would be a good place to start. He looked back at his destroyed car and the damaged lawn thanks to Mac kidnapping him earlier and wondered how he was going to explain that one. He knew he couldn’t tell his parents what had really happened because they’d never believe it. Thankfully, they were still on a business trip, so it’d still be a few more days before they got home.
Spencer sighed, hoping against hope that it would alleviate some of his stress. He took another sip of his beer and closed his eyes.
Spencer: Oh Spencer. What have you gotten yourself into?
???: You didn’t get yourself into anything.
Spencer: Huh? Who’s there?
Spencer looked around to see who was talking to him. He didn’t see anyone near him.
Spencer: Weird. I could have sworn…
???: That you heard somebody? I’m used to being ignored you know.
Spencer: Wha—
Spencer looked to his right to see Kitty sitting on the porch.
Spencer: Where did YOU come from!?
Kitty: Oh, I just really needed someone to lean on. I’m not in the mood to be shooed away like some plastic bag.
Spencer: I wasn’t going to shoo you away! I just wanted to know how you got here.
Kitty: I know, but listen. I met my former friend today because I wanted answers from him.
Spencer: Who exactly?
Kitty: Shawn Mott. For 6 years, he and I were looking for a foster home together, but once we found someone who was suitable enough to raise us, he just up and left. I still can’t figure what drove him to just all of a sudden abandon me like that.
Spencer: I see. I had a pretty tough day as well. Who adopted you?
Kitty: Oh, you’ve met her today. Vixella adopted us and I still live with her.
Spencer: So THAT’S why you wanted me to send Katalia to her! It’s not just to keep secrets like that.
Kitty: Who said it was a secret?
Spencer: It just… sounded like one was all.
Kitty: (sighs) I get it. You don’t understand anything you can’t grasp, so you question everything. You are quick to jump to conclusions, and for that, I judge you. But that doesn’t mean you can’t fix your flaws.
Spencer: That doesn’t make any sense?
Kitty: It will, in time. But for now, I need to regroup. I see you have a beer. Would you mind handing me one too?
Spencer: (conceding) Okay, I’ll be a minute.
Spencer goes back into the house to go to his father’s beer fridge again.
--End Scene—
Mac was back at Zela’s mansion playing chess with Jarvis. Ever since Christine had left Mac at the movie theater, he watched Annihilator to try and alleviate the stress of his failures and then went back to the mansion so he could tell Zela what had happened once she got home. For some reason, Jarvis had taken up chess and invited Mac to play while they waited for her. Jarvis had the clear advantage, with both of his rooks, his queen, his king, one of his knights, one of his bishops, and a few pawns still in play. Mac only had a bishop, his king, a rook, and two of his pawns left.
Jarvis moved his knight to take Mac’s other rook.
Jarvis: Check!
Mac moved his king to the right, only to be responded by Jarvis’ queen, catching the king on a diagonal which Mac’s king could not escape from thanks to the pawns and his bishop.
Jarvis: Checkmate!
Mac: Seriously!? This is the third time tonight!
Jarvis: Oh don’t be so down! I’ve only played this for most of my life.
The door to the mansion then opens and in comes Zela. Alfred and Mac stand up to greet Zela, leaving the chessboard alone.
Zela: Hi Mac! What do you have to report to me? What information did you get on Christine?
Mac: Well…
Zela: (blankly) Well WHAT?
Mac: Christine dumped me into a movie theater.
Zela: Useless! (she began to walk up the stairs to her bedroom, disappointed in Mac) If you can’t get a single task for me done, you might as well go home now before…
Mac: She dumped me there using the darkness!
This stopped Zela in her tracks. She turned around and faced Mac from the stairs.
Zela: The DARKNESS, you say?
Mac: Yes. She glowed her eyes red and everything became dark!
Zela: That’s a Darkness Seal, you idiot!
Jarvis: Should I know what that is?
Zela: No, Jarvis. In fact, you can take the rest of the night off. Just keep your mouth shut!
Jarvis: As you wish, mademoiselle.
Jarvis bowed and left the mansion, leaving Zela and Mac alone. As soon as Jarvis had driven away from the mansion, Mac could feel vines wrapping around his legs tightly.
Zela: (calmly as she walks towards Mac) Now Mac, you claim Christine used a Darkness Seal. Why would she need to use one?
Mac: Uh, I took Spencer hostage…
Zela: YOU FUCKING RETARD!
Mac: (screams as the vines tighten even more and even higher on his legs)
Zela: (continuing to chastise) No WONDER she used a Darkness Seal to dump you! Bringing a hostage was not only unnecessary, but it GAVE YOU AWAY! And not only that, but now she knows I’m onto her! I want you to give me ONE GOOD REASON why I shouldn’t feed you to my plants right now, and before you go using fire as your reason, my plants have more power in the mass of one of my toes than you do in your entire body!
Mac didn’t really believe Zela’s plants were that powerful, but he didn’t want to put his life on the line either. She could see Zela’s fury ready to kill him where he stood, but he still felt as though he and Zela needed each other moving forward.
Mac: Christine used darkness! Didn’t you have something bad happen to you because of the darkness?
Zela: What’s that got to with anything?
Mac: I’m saying that because Christine uses the darkness, I did bring something about her home.
Zela: Oh no you didn’t, and nice excuse by the way! You can sleep on the floor.
Zela put two of her fingers together on his lips and whistled. Some of her smaller trees walked inside the mansion.
Zela: Darlings! Pin him down! Keep him on the ground for the entire night. If he tries anything funny, you know what to do.
Just like that, the plants that walked into the mansion grabbed onto Mac and effortlessly threw him down onto the ground, pinning him down as they seemingly went inanimate. Mac grunted in pain as Zela’s plants had him inescapably pinned to the floor. Zela walked over to Mac’s head and looked down on him.
Zela: Tomorrow, I’ll be making a visit to the West End Music Theater myself. If you want to try again, you can have Jarvis take you. And this time, no hostages.
Zela walked away from Mac and back up the stairs.
--End Scene—
Alycia spent the entire night reading the book she had taken off the shelf, but it’s left her confused about several details. It didn’t explain how the nightmares worked for example, which she felt she needed to know because her nightmare was hellish. All it gave her was that the same nightmare would come at random intervals, meaning she would have to suffer this nightmare however many times. This made her want to kill herself because the dread at having to see herself get torn inside-out time and time again was a prospect she did not want to face. Furthermore, how some of the powers worked confused her to a great degree. The Darkness Seal power confused her a lot because it had to do with time travel, teleportation, and other sorts of stuff and she could not wrap her head around it. She had remembered that her powers looked to be cold, so she went to the “Ice” section of the “Table of Contents”. What that taught her wasn’t as much as she would have liked, other than that apparently she’ll get a craving of sweets at some point.
Alycia sighed, now going over to the note that was bookmarked in the book. She opened it and began to read.
Alycia: (reading out loud) Your nightmares will test who you truly are, and will be a test you must overcome if you want to master your gift. I have missed you so much, and I hope that you will be able to become the best that I can no longer become. Signed…
Alycia looks up from the note in complete in utter shock.
Alycia: AA? It can’t be!
Alycia read the note again, confused at what she had just read.
Alycia: (panicked because she could not understand the note) What is this? Am I really what I see in my nightmares? Who is AA? What is going on?
--End Scene—
The very next morning, Addie’s father drove Addie to the West End Music Theater. Addie had been told that Christine was glad to receive Addie’s job application and that she would be interviewed in the morning. She looked forward to the interview, but she wasn’t sure how to feel about the interview being so soon. She walked down the hall with her father as they made their way to Christine’s office.
Addie’s father: Are you nervous for your interview?
Addie: A little.
Addie’s father: (chuckles) Don’t worry. You’ll be just fine. Your mother would be so proud of you.
Addie: (blankly) Yeah
Addie and her father had made it to Christine’s door. Addie knocked on the door, not knowing whether or not Christine was even there, or if she was there, if she was already busy.
Christine: Come in!
Addie opened the door and what she saw as she walked in changed her mood from anticipation to sheer dread. Seated in one of the chairs was the last person she ever wanted to see again.
Addie: What the fuck!? WHAT’S SAARA DOING HERE?
Saara: (turns around to meet Addie’s glare) Oh look who it is! Here to fuck me up yet again? You’ve ruined me three times already Addie! I am not going to let you do it for a fourth one!
Addie: ME ruin YOU!? You’ve got that backwards!
Christine, in the meanwhile, has a villainous smirk on her face at watching Addie and Saara confront each other.
Christine: I can SEE you two are already good fits for the Drama Department!
Addie and Saara turned their attentions to Christine again. Addie was annoyed at Christine for her taunt and for setting up an interview with her sworn enemy.
Christine: This is exactly what I wanted and why I set the interview up to do the two of you together. (relishing) See, I know about your rivalry and I can’t help but find it to be good entertainment. You both blame each other for your mistakes when you should be trying to work together. THAT is your major downfall, but you are both so flawed that you are blind to the truth. So, to determine whether or not you will both be getting the job, you both are going to be cast into a little play that’s being rehearsed. You’ll both need to work together if you want to succeed.
Addie’s father: (laughs) That’s ALL they have to do?
Christine: Precisely! (waits a few moments before continuing) Oh! And before I forget, you both will start working on it… (Christine pauses for a few moments) TONIGHT!
Addie and Saara: TONIGHT!? US!? TOGETHER!?
Christine: I didn’t realize I was interviewing deaf people, because that’s exactly what I just said. Here’s your scripts.
Christine tossed two scripts to Saara and Addie, which they both caught with relative ease.
Christine: I suggest you both start practicing in the Red Room. We will be meeting onstage at 6:00.

-I noticed the reaction I got last episode was a lot of confusion. I tried the best I could to answer some things about the plot in this episode. The mid-season finale will be on Episode 8, and then Episode 9 will begin the back half of Season 1. A major fight will happen in these 2 episodes that will result in at least one death.-

Thoughts on the Episode: The standing point of the Episode was definitely 'AA', I have a theory on who it is but we'll get to it later.
Did seeing Beckett, JJ, and Daniel from Vixella’s perspective clear anything up about the rescue scene from last episode?: Yes it did, we got to see how Vixella came to be there with a little insight on what the Darkness can do whilst in control of someone.
What new questions do you have after reading things from Vixella’s perspective?: I want to explore the Darkness more, I keep drawing back to Alycia's vision of the 'Horns', I want to say that Vixella isn't all she makes out to be and I feel over time little pieces of this will be torn away until her true persona is revealed.
Why did Vixella tell Beckett to stay behind after the others have left?: I feel she can see something in Beckett in which she can use, whether this be good or bad is still uncertain.
Thoughts on Katalia figuring out how her powers work? What do you think this will lead to?: I definitely feel the 'Morphing' power will come as a benefit for Katalia's skills in fighting and defense as she has taken the trait of 'Damsel in Distress' lately so this may put her in a new light.
Why did Kitty go to Spencer for a shoulder to lean on?: Her and Spencer bonded previously so it makes sense, I also see kind of a development for a further attraction for Kitty since she is the typical lonesome character but potentially with Spencer she'll have someone to confine in.
Do you think Zela will be successful when she goes to the West End Music Theater for Christine?: Yes, Christine is a Guest Star and she's a catalyst for the plot. Christine will definitely be a casualty by the Mid-Season Finale.
What will the note mean for Alycia and what will Alycia need to plan for?: I have a theory that 'AA' stands for Alycia Anderson, I know she has the note but with the Sci-Fi esque story it could well be that the note is from the future and that an older version of Alycia simply left it behind. It's hard to explain but I covered the main basis of my theory. You can tell it was disbelief that she felt after reading the signature, nobody would believe that they would write something that they have never seen before.
Thoughts on how Christine handled the feud between Saara and Addie: She's playing it to put them against eachother, Christine wants drama and she's getting it.
What will happen when Saara and Addie begin working for Christine?: I feel its going to be dysfunctional, Saara and Addie both want fame and they already hate eachother so realistically Christine could be setting herself up for a fall especially now that Zela is after her.
Favorite/Least Favorite Characters: Christine & Mac continue to be my least whilst Alycia and Zela are slowly rising.

Christine - Guest Star, Catalyst to set up Zela's character.
Addie/or Saara - One will end up dying purely for being connected to Christine whilst the other lives with regret and guilt.

What new questions do you have after reading things from Vixella’s perspective? VIxella said something to "The Darkness" that she wants to go to heaven and to set her free, so my theory that Vixella is a cruel demon from hell is still on point!
Why did Vixella tell Beckett to stay behind after the others have left? She is interested in his Mind powers and wants him on her side. I think he will become her minion after she somehow return his hand by using dark magic.
Thoughts on Katalia figuring out how her powers work? What do you think this will lead to? I hope she can turn into Harambe and kill Brooke's father for good.
Why did Kitty go to Spencer for a shoulder to lean on? Vixella made her do it cause she wants more minions. It's very strange to go at someone else's home and open about your past like that
Do you think Zela will be successful when she goes to the West End Music Theater for Christine? Yes, there will be a great fight and Zela will slay!
What will the note mean for Alycia and what will Alycia need to plan for? My theory is similar ot IceIcebaby's. I think that note is sent by Future Alycia who already hit the limit to her powers.
Thoughts on how Christine handled the feud between Saara and Addie? It will be so interesting to see those two as a duet. I believe that they will be much more successful that way.
What will happen when Saara and Addie begin working for Christine? They will have some catfights, but in the end of the day they can end up as friends who knows

Did seeing Beckett, JJ, and Daniel from Vixella’s perspective clear anything up about the rescue scene from last episode?: Yes it did, we got to see how Vixella came to be there with a little insight on what the Darkness can do whilst in control of someone.
What new questions do you have after reading things from Vixella’s perspective?: I want to explore the Darkness more, I keep drawing back to Alycia's vision of the 'Horns', I want to say that Vixella isn't all she makes out to be and I feel over time little pieces of this will be torn away until her true persona is revealed.
Why did Vixella tell Beckett to stay behind after the others have left?: I feel she can see something in Beckett in which she can use, whether this be good or bad is still uncertain.
Thoughts on Katalia figuring out how her powers work? What do you think this will lead to?: I definitely feel the 'Morphing' power will come as a benefit for Katalia's skills in fighting and defense as she has taken the trait of 'Damsel in Distress' lately so this may put her in a new light.
Why did Kitty go to Spencer for a shoulder to lean on?: Her and Spencer bonded previously so it makes sense, I also see kind of a development for a further attraction for Kitty since she is the typical lonesome character but potentially with Spencer she'll have someone to confine in.
Do you think Zela will be successful when she goes to the West End Music Theater for Christine?: Yes, Christine is a Guest Star and she's a catalyst for the plot. Christine will definitely be a casualty by the Mid-Season Finale.
What will the note mean for Alycia and what will Alycia need to plan for?: I have a theory that 'AA' stands for Alycia Anderson, I know she has the note but with the Sci-Fi esque story it could well be that the note is from the future and that an older version of Alycia simply left it behind. It's hard to explain but I covered the main basis of my theory. You can tell it was disbelief that she felt after reading the signature, nobody would believe that they would write something that they have never seen before.
Thoughts on how Christine handled the feud between Saara and Addie: She's playing it to put them against eachother, Christine wants drama and she's getting it.
What will happen when Saara and Addie begin working for Christine?: I feel its going to be dysfunctional, Saara and Addie both want fame and they already hate eachother so realistically Christine could be setting herself up for a fall especially now that Zela is after her.
Favorite/Least Favorite Characters: Christine & Mac continue to be my least whilst Alycia and Zela are slowly rising.

Christine - Guest Star, Catalyst to set up Zela's character.
Addie/or Saara - One will end up dying purely for being connected to Christine whilst the other lives with regret and guilt.
