A year ago, I made an account - orangepenguin. Okay, this is interesting, I thought. I wanted to enroll in another game, but.. I could only enroll in ONE. Fuck that. So I made another account, keeping with the animal theme - giraffe. Giraffe was more obnoxious, a bit annoying. (i.e. -giraffe lick of affection-) So, I decided to go with someone more fun to play as - koolaidria.
Koolaidria was based on the crazy black girl, as seen on many reality shows, but the main inspiration was Jade from ANTM Cycle 6. Well, that was fine and dandy, but Koolaidria got 20th, after being loud-mouthed and sassy, alienating herself from her castmates. I was down to two accounts, two games.
Orangepenguin hit it off great as did giraffe. But poor koolaidria!
So I made a 4th account. By then, I knew about red noses, and not to push my luck, I decided this 4th would be my last account. Her name was LaQuawnda.
For LaQuawnda, I decided to go with the bitchy black bitch reality show stereotype, but I also based her on several things:
- a character from a One Act Play I performed as
- various ANTM house bitches
- inside jokes from IRL
- Bowanda Jackson, an inside joke (Facebook search it)
- Tyra Banks
- and various other things I can't recall after a year.
Both LaQuawnda and Koolaidria's names were taken from the Top 60 Ghetto Black Girl names, which circulated on Tengaged for a while, but something that was a big inside joke among my circle of friends IRL. LaQuawnda isn't a name on the list (the closest was DaQuonde), but was a creation of my own.
Where did Lady Q come from? It stemmed from a conversation in my first castings. Nikki47 (she is in my rookies right now) and IAMSASHAFIERCE (Mattq now) were talking and I was too, and I was like.. "Call me by ma' street name, Lady Q", which I pulled out of my ass. I was inspired by Queen Latifah actually, not Lady Gaga, but yeah, that was what came to mind first I guess.
LaQuawnda quickly evolved, thanks to the great fan base I accumlated straight away (Kirby, Life, KNAGAROO, sharkskin) and thanks to my co-conspirator IAMSASHAFIERCE, who had the same idea as me, and we both conveniently joined a castings together, and we clicked. I decided to go Myspace/Internet chat speak, and not the Bowanda tAlK liKe dIs iN aLteRnaTiNg cAsEs like I planned, simply cause it was easier. LaQuawnda sort of had a Brookyln meets the south dialect, but it came natural. I could go from orangepenguin's normal writing like this, ta' talkin' like dis ta' every1 in ma' games. Nobody caught on. I fooled everyone, until LaQuawnda was banned, and I had to reveal that I was OP, giraffe, and koolaidria.
LaQuawnda had the best record of them all and was the most popular, so when I had to chose, I was obviously going to keep the account that I could win stars the easiest with. I knew I could some day, and I did. LaQuawnda quickly became part of me, and my personality shown through more and more. LaQuawnda was to me what Harry Potter is to J.K. Rowling. My creation, my gift to the world. I loved her. It was fun. And yet, I could still be me, talking to Wonderland all the time, until she shut the door in my face.
So who am I? WHAT am I? Who was I before the fab 4 accounts? Well, does it really matter? Does it? All that matters is that in the past year, I was here, and touched the lives of many. And I'm proud of that, even though I ain't proud that I spent my life here. I quit many times, but curiousity killed the cat, and it killed me, so I returned.
But this time's for real. I'll finish my rookies, to attain my beautiful record, but after that, I will retire the account. I might make appearances from time to time, since I do want to keep in contact with some people and make sure they aren't dead or on drugs. But I am leaving. You can't stop me. I've accomplished all I wanted here - I got black, I am t-famous, I made an A-list alliance, I won stars, and I am one of the most popular users on the site. But those aren't REAL accomplishments, and now I wanna focus on the real ones, and move on with my life.
As for Switchblade Sistahs - I stole that from my friends Mark and Heather, the original Switchblade Sistahs.
