Just talked to my grandma on the phone. The van they were driving is totaled. They were driving and a white SUV tboned them after running a stop sign. The van got wedged between a tree and a wall. It took them a while to be able to get out of the car because the battery turned off or was ejected or something so they couldn't use the power-unlock thing so they had to manually unlock the car which took awhile.
My grandpa is really stiff and his chest hurts from the seat belt, but it is a good thing he was wearing his seat belt because he probably would have been through the windshield.
My grandma is still in the hospital but probably leaving tomorrow. She typically puts the chest strap of the seat belt behind her back and just wears the waist belt, so she must have hit her head on the dash or something. She has a gash on her face, and she hit her knee on the dash. My mom said something about a spot of blood being in her head, so they did scans on it.
They are very blessed by the grace of God to even still be alive.
Please pray for my grandparents. They were just in a car accident. They got T-boned. My grandpa called my mom so he is okay. They are admitting my grandma. She has a gash on her face and a hurt knee. I really hope this isn't a serious accident
Today, on my 950th day of being on Tengaged, I have finally bought Gold Level! I am so excited that I can finally play every game Tengaged has, and I can get the entire Tengaged experience!
I have grown so much as a person since I joined Tengaged, and I am so happy that I decided to come back on here at the beginning of the school year!
Thank you to everyone who has helped me get where I am today!
My cousin died about 9 months ago because he got hit by a drunk driver.
Before he died, for whatever reason, he told his step-mom that if he were to die at a young age, to play the song "If I die young" by The Band Perry at his funeral. He wanted everyone to celebrate his life, not sit around crying. The song was played the day we honored his life.
Today at work (I work at an after school childcare program) a kid started singing the song. It brought back so many memories of my cousin. I came back today to my dorm and listened to the song and watched the video they played at his service with the song on it.
This little reminder, even coming from an unknowing child just makes me remember how much we all take life for granted. We don't know how much time we have left.
It also makes me wonder why people are so selfish to go out and drink and drive. A 21 year old promising college student was killed because a man who already had 2 DUIs and shouldn't have been on the road decided that drinking and driving was more important than my cousins life.
I don't want this to be a sob story or for people to give me their condolences or me preaching to people, but I wanted to get my thoughts out...
