The Rules to The Letter Game!

Dec 21, 2009 by MikeNIkers
Basically, you start out saying a letter, and then the next person adds another letter, and the next another letter, and you try NOT to be the one to complete a word, but you HAVE to have a word in mind that could be completed with the starting letters. The person who completes a word loses that round. A few rules:

THE MINIMUM LETTER RULE: Basically, you don't want to have someone start out with "a" and the other person say, "haha, you lose! That's already a word!" So we set a minimum number of letters before having to worry if it's a word or not. I usually say four is a good minimum.

CHALLENGING: So in order to avoid completing a word, you may throw on a letter to the end of the started chain, without knowing a word that actually completes it. If your opponent says nothing and adds another letter, you get off scott free. However, if they do not believe such a word exists with the chain you have given them, they may say, "I challenge you." At which point, you have to provide them a word that can be completed with the chain. If you can't come up with one, YOU lose the round.

DON'T BE A BITCH: Googling is a definite property of a bitch. Don't google words or use Microsoft Word for spell check. This is meant to be a verbal keep, try to keep it as close to its original form as possible.

Every time you lose a round, be it by completing a word or failing to come up with one when challenged, you get a LETTER towards completing the word of the game. The word can be HORSE, like when you're playing basketball. It's really up to you! Once you've completed your word, your out of the rotation and out of the game. Last person left wins it all.
