I postponed doing this because I really have no idea what to think or predict. I feel like I can gauge the general area of the scoreboard that a lot of these acts are going to finish, but I have absolutely no idea who's going to win. I'm feeling a 2019 situation occurring where the winner is neither the televote nor jury winner, but I'm not really sure. Hoping for a fun and exciting night nonetheless, especially since all of our pop girls are missing except one. But that's besides the point, here are my final predictions.
1. Sweden ๐ธ๐ช
I don't know, this just seems like a safe bet to me to put first. But I'm also not sure because Sweden has struggled in the televote as of late. But I also feel like there's a level of authenticity in Cornelia's song and performance that separates her from the past Swedish acts and also from the competition tonight. As a result, I could see her having a strong enough showing in the televote that it helps propel her to the win. Added to the fact that this is definitely top 3 in the jury and could win, I feel like this is just the most logical winner in my head at the moment, so I'm going with it.
2. Ukraine ๐บ๐ฆ
This is obviously performing extremely well in the televote and I don't think there's really no question about that. I do feel like the number may not be as high as we would imagine though. Plus, I feel like this is going to do solid in the jury vote, but not solid enough to win the whole contest. The first thought that comes to my head is Sergey 2016, but with just more televote and less jury support. Not sure if that makes sense. But I think that it's going to be very close and that if the televote really shows up for Ukraine that they could run away with this.
3. United Kingdom ๐ฌ๐ง
Never expected to have the UK this high. Sam is definitely going to crush the jury vote, perhaps even win. This just feels like a song that the juries are going to absolutely eat up, and rightfully so. While I think this will struggle slightly more in the televote, I think the fact that the song sounds so authentically British could help people gravitate toward it. Either way, this is in the top 5 and rightfully so.
4. Italy ๐ฎ๐น
I feel like a lot of people have been disregarding Italy as of late. I agree that their momentum has died down, but Italy also always shows up in the televote. Especially when two huge Italian stars are performing. And this song also has more jury appeal than their previous few entries. Don't really see this one winning, but I do feel like it'll crack its way into the top 5.
5. Spain ๐ช๐ธ
Wasn't really sure where to place this one because I worry that it could underperform, but I have faith in Chanel. Considering every other pop girl got left in the semis, Chanel really stands out in the final lineup. Viewers who like this type of pop banger literally have zero other options, which I think will really help Chanel's televote score. Plus, I feel like juries *have* to recognize her technical skill on stage and the fact that she hits every single note while also performing top notch choreography. Fingers crossed.

Really not sure though. Hoping for some delightful surprises tonight!! Would love to hear all of your thoughts below :)
Okay... I knew this semi was always going to be difficult to qualify from but these results are just not it. I can usually understand why acts qualify but I am really struggling to understand these qualifiers. The part that really bothers me is the mediocrity that passed through. Certain acts that appeared messy and that weren't vocally together qualified to the final, yet powerful songs with competent vocalists did not?? And I think my biggest issue with this is that it was the mediocre men that qualified that took the place of the strong women. It's just disheartening to witness strong performers sacrificed at the expense of songs that are middling. And the fact that there was such a lack of diversity of qualifiers as well makes no sense to me. There should be no realm where we get four male ballads yet a singular uptempo song sung by a woman. For lack of sounding too dreary, I am happy for the qualifiers but this is one of the first times I just can't wrap my head around those that made it. Anyways, my reactions -
1. Finland ๐ซ๐ฎ
Still don't get this song. Vocals are weak, song is mid, and the lyrics are still horrid. Should not have qualified with such weak vocals and staging.
2. Israel ๐ฎ๐ฑ
Happy this one is out. Michael's demeanor throughout the show was horrible alone. I also still don't think the song is good or that his vocals are where they should be. Try and sneak in Feker Libi next year please.
3. Serbia ๐ท๐ธ
Legend. So happy for her. This is just a banger and so so iconic, hope she thrives in the final :)
4. Azerbaijan ๐ฆ๐ฟ
Bland and generic. Staging is cool but doesn't help make this boring song any more exciting.
5. Georgia ๐ฌ๐ช
CIRCUS MIRCUS!!!!! You know, I get what they were going for now and they are true legends. Will be blasting this song.
6. Malta ๐ฒ๐น
My stream crashed during this performance </3 Feel like this legend just got lost with such a generic song, but at least she teared up the stage.
7. San Marino ๐ธ๐ฒ
Yeah... this one hurts. The way this was so out there yet still so classy and put together is such a strong accomplishment. Achille performed the hell out of this song and put on one of - if not - the best stage show of the night. Juries, you will pay for this.
8. Australia ๐ฆ๐บ
Still don't get this one either but I'm happy for Sheldon. Happy that the dramatics were toned down a bit too, it made me like the song slightly more.
9. Cyprus ๐จ๐พ
Ugh, this one also hurt. This should not be Cyprus' first non qualification since 2015. Yes, I agree she was not totally giving what needed to be gave. But the song is still so so high quality and I worry that every time a Greek sounding song flops we will be getting less and less of them in the contest...
10. Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช
Should I rant? I have nothing else to do. Brooke literally teared up this stage tonight. She gave the best performance by a full mile. And even if you disagree with that statement, you cannot tell me that that wasn't one of the top 10 performances of the night. The staging was top notch, Brooke sounded phenomenal, her AND THE AUDIENCE were having so much fun, and this just brought some much needed life into this semi final. I was so sure this was qualifying after watching it because of how much it all came together and how she gave absolutely everything. And then it didn't. My note at the beginning is mostly in reference to this flopping, because there is no world in which this should not have qualified. I guess Europe was too nervous to accept a powerful woman singing a pop banger on stage, as we have witnessed multiple other times throughout this season. Brooke Scullion will always be famous and she deserves justice.
11. North Macedonia ๐ฒ๐ฐ
I mean... this was there?? It literally is such a low impact song I usually forget it even exists, but at least the staging looked competent.
12. Estonia ๐ช๐ช
Good for Stefan :') Happy that this legend succeeded and I do think this looks nice, albeit is missing something. But still a solid entry that I'm happy advanced.
13. Romania ๐ท๐ด
This is fun! I said this in my review, but I like this song, it just never brings me back to it to listen to it again. Happy that Romania has gotten out of their non qualification streak though, especially since it meant a lot to WRS.
14. Poland ๐ต๐ฑ
I still think it's so funny how American this song sounds and I won't stop mentioning it. Graphics are laughable as well but it is a good performance and happy that Poland is back in the final.
15. Montenegro ๐ฒ๐ช
Should've been in Montenegrin </3 they did as much as they could with this one but it was never going to work.
16. Belgium ๐ง๐ช
The jury members who put this through over Brooke will not hear the end of this from me. The staging is so boring and bleak, the song literally has no beat and the vocals are spotty. Why is this in.
17. Sweden ๐ธ๐ช
Legend. Even though RAI fumbled the bag with this live, I can still see it winning. Cornelia is just in a league of her own and is a legend. Happy for her :)
18. Czech Republic ๐จ๐ฟ
Was never worried for this one even though I saw some doubts for it online?? This was just a great closer and is so much fun and I'm so happy how well the staging and vocals turned out in the end!! Legends :)

Predictions on the final to come tomorrow :) even though I literally have no idea who is going to win.
Since Semi Final 2 of #Eurovision is tomorrow (!!!!), I have decided to make a prediction on what I think will happen tomorrow! Just like semi 1, I have been avoiding thinking about qualifiers because there are so many quality entries. I feel like it's going to be such a tight race, especially for the last few spots, and I really do feel like anything could happen!! Also, please remember, this is my prediction, not my personal preferences :)
1. Finland ๐ซ๐ฎ
Jezebel by The Rasmus
Chance of qualifying - 60%
Meh... I still don't this this is necessarily safe. I don't think a majority of Europe know who the Rasmus are, plus, the vocals have been subpar and I don't think this stands out too much. Still going to put it in because everyone thinks this is in, but I have an inkling this could miss if everyone else performs great.
2. Israel ๐ฎ๐ฑ
I.M. by Michael Ben David
Chance of qualifying - 45%
I still don't see this one qualifying. The vocals that the press has raved about seem borderline shouty to me, and the song is a little too over the top for its own good.
3. Serbia ๐ท๐ธ
In corpore sano by Konstrakta
Chance of qualifying - 85%
Fairly safe. All the Balkans are going to gravitate to this and I'm sure the rest of Europe will love the beat and how iconic and out there this is.
4. Azerbaijan ๐ฆ๐ฟ
Fade to Black by Nadir Rustamli
Chance of qualifying - 45%
Placing this as borderline out. Feel like it doesn't stand out amongst the other male ballads in this semi, and if one is to miss out, it's going to be Azerbaijan.
5. Georgia ๐ฌ๐ช
Lock Me In by Circus Mircus
Chance of qualifying - 10%
This isn't happening. This is fun, but I just don't see how this would garner appeal from either the jury or the televote.
6. Malta ๐ฒ๐น
I Am What I Am by Emma Muscat
Chance of qualifying - 40%
This screams jury qualifier and last place in televote. Unfortunately for Malta, that tends to lead to a non qualification.
7. San Marino ๐ธ๐ฒ
Stripper by Achille Lauro
Chance of qualifying - 55%
I'm putting this through. I think the Italian audience is going to help bring this to life live and literally who is putting on a show like Achille?? No one.
8. Australia ๐ฆ๐บ
Not the Same by Sheldon Riley
Chance of qualifying - 75%
Juries are going to absolutely eat this up. This should be fairly safe as I can also see the audience connecting more with an authentic ballad like this in comparison to the prior ones in the semi.
9. Cyprus ๐จ๐พ
Ela by Andromache
Chance of qualifying - 50%
I HATE having this this low. Realistically, I just don't see where Cyprus is getting support from in this semi. I also worry that the staging may appear more clunky than polished, which could really hurt this. I am very very worried for this queen. We need prayers.
10. Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช
That's Rich by Brooke
Chance of qualifying - 55%
11. North Macedonia ๐ฒ๐ฐ
Circles by Andrea
Chance of qualifying - 10%
This just gets lost and doesn't appeal to either televoters or the jury. Pretty much dead on arrival.
12. Estonia ๐ช๐ช
Hope by Stefan
Chance of qualifying - 80%
Even though the stage show is slightly disappointing, I don't see a world in which this fails to qualify. Juries are going to absolutely love this, and I'm sure the public will too.
13. Romania ๐ท๐ด
Llรกmame by WRS
Chance of qualifying - 40%
Meh... I can see a world in which this works out for Romania, but I'm leaning toward no. There are better uptempo songs in this semi and I fear it just gets lost amongst the lineup.
14. Poland ๐ต๐ฑ
River by Ochman
Chance of qualifying - 90%
Happy that Poland will finally break their qualification streak this year. This is the type of song both juries and the televote are going to love, and Poland does deserve a good result once again.
15. Montenegro ๐ฒ๐ช
Breathe by Vladana
Chance of qualifying - 20%
Jury bait, but will flop in the televote. Don't see a path for this one unfortunately.
16. Belgium ๐ง๐ช
Miss You by Jรฉrรฉmie Makiese
Chance of qualifying - 35%
Don't really see this one working out either. From what I've heard, the staging is messy and the vocals aren't as strong as they need to be. Feel like this just doesn't entice anyone to vote for it.
17. Sweden ๐ธ๐ช
Hold Me Closer by Cornelia Jakobs
Chance of qualifying - 100%
A given. Winning the semi. Need I say more?
18. Czech Republic ๐จ๐ฟ
Lights Off by We Are Domi
Chance of qualifying - 85%
Perfect closer. Will be fresh in the televoters minds while also being commercial enough to appeal to the juries. Should easily qualify.
-PREDICTIONS-
1. Sweden ๐ธ๐ช
2. Poland ๐ต๐ฑ
3. Czech Republic ๐จ๐ฟ
4. Serbia ๐ท๐ธ
5. Estonia ๐ช๐ช

**I have my 7th-13th as borderlines and ones that could go either way... I'm scared for tomorrow**
Also would LOVE to hear all of your thoughts and predictions for tomorrow!! :) It's bound to be crazy and I can't wait to see what happens.
Well... those results did not go as expected!! I think I'm fine with them for the most part and they all make sense, but still upset that my 3rd and 4th place of this year have crashed out so early on. But I guess that's the joy of Eurovision!! As usual, I had so much fun watching this show and Italy has been doing a great job so far (besides the excess amount of cameramen visibly running in frame). Anyways, here's my country by country review!!
1. Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ
This one hurt. I honestly thought Ronela did a solid job and I thought the performance was much better than the press let on. However, my guess is people at home thought this was messy and this suffered as a result. Justice for Ronela.
2. Latvia ๐ฑ๐ป
Thought this one was going to go through with how much fun and energy they brought to the stage. My guess is that people gravitated to the other uptempo entries later in the semi or that the juries made this crash out, or perhaps both.
3. Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น
THAT'S A LEGEND!!!! I thought we were losing this absolute star so I am so happy that Europe pulled through for Monika!! Just so classy, so entertaining, and so jazzy, what's not to love!!!
4. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ
Probably the qualifier I disagree with the most. I can understand why this qualified, but I don't think it necessarily stands out all too much and the song is still bland. Beautiful stage show though, which I think very much helped this.
5. Slovenia ๐ธ๐ฎ
Ugh, LPS icons. I knew this was bound to flop out, but seeing these high schoolers have so much fun on stage together was such a great sight and the song is such a grower as well.
6. Ukraine ๐บ๐ฆ
This was so so solid. It really stands out and works so well as a high quality and competent song, while also arising emotions due to the war in Ukraine. This was beautifully executed and deservedly qualified.
7. Bulgaria ๐ง๐ฌ
They did the best they could do with this song, but at the end of the day, if the song isn't strong it just isn't going to perform well.
8. Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ
S10 crying at the end of her performance... now that's a legend!! The staging could've been more, but I still think this looks slick and very classy and does fit the vibes of the song well. Happy to have a Dutch song in the final :)
9. Moldova ๐ฒ๐ฉ
Yeah... this one was fun!! Definitely wish it had slightly more extravagant staging and props, but they still sell the song extremely well and it really comes alive with the live audience.
10. Portugal ๐ต๐น
LEGENDS!!!! The way I almost sob during the first chorus of this song every time it comes on is too powerful. The staging is so so beautiful and so effective, and I just love absolutely everything about this. Hope this pulls a dark horse result because it's too good.
11. Croatia ๐ญ๐ท
Mia is a legend and the added Croatian section at the end was scrumptious, but this just got lost amongst the rest of the show.
12. Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ
Europe was NOT Reddi for this and for Reddi I sincerely apologize. The one time Denmark actually deserves to qualify they don't... so saddening. But this was so much fun and came together so well I love these legends.
13. Austria ๐ฆ๐น
RIP the Pia Maria hologram </3 I honestly thought Pia sounded fine and that the performance came together so so well, but I fear Europe also viewed this as messy. It's always so disheartening when tracks work so well in the studio but then can't come together live. But I'll be streaming this banger for the rest of time.
14. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ
LEGENDS!!!! They deserved this so so much. Europe was really in the slow and vibey song mood tonight, so I'm happy that allowed these icons to flourish and qualify. Just top tier staging, beauty, and grace.
15. Greece ๐ฌ๐ท
WINNER!!!!!! Loved absolutely everything about this. Amanda is too powerful and the staging works so effectively and just took my breath away. Really hoping this has a shot at victory because it's so good.
16. Norway ๐ณ๐ด
Tbh didn't really watch this one because I had something to do quick and I knew they'd be qualifying. The song is still annoying though.
17. Armenia ๐ฆ๐ฒ
Ms. Linn did snap tonight and I'm so happy she did!! Still not completely sold on the staging, but it helped her qualify so I'm happy for Armenia because this is just a cool and relaxing song and they deserve it :)
Since Semi Final 1 of Eurovision is tomorrow (!!!!), I have decided to make a prediction on what I think will happen tomorrow! Literally the strongest Eurovision semi that I can think of. This semi is so wide open with so many different variables and sounds going on, I literally have no idea what will happen. I've been avoiding thinking about qualifiers because I know I'm going to be hurt, but the caliber is so high is must be done. Also, please remember, this is my prediction, not my personal preferences :)
1. Albania ๐ฆ๐ฑ
Sekret by Ronela Hajati
Chance of qualifying - 70%
I still think this is a fairly safe qualifier, but do think it has the chance of flopping after the rehearsal footage dropped. Still think the song and Ronela in general should be enough to carry this through though.
2. Latvia ๐ฑ๐ป
Eat Your Salad Citi Zฤni
Chance of qualifying - 50%
This 50% is definitely a cop out, but I really could see this going either way. I feel like it does get harmed with the running order, but the song is still insanely memorable and I think this could do decent enough with the juries due to their charisma. We shall see.
3. Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น
Sentimentai by Monika Liu
Chance of qualifying - 55%
So scared for this legend. This SHOULD be qualifying due to how high quality the song is. But I just worry that the public won't get around it and the jury support won't be enough to push it through. Feel like it'll still be able to squeak through, but am not entirely sure.
4. Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ
Boys Do Cry by Marius Bear
Chance of qualifying - 50%
Most certainly a borderline qualifier. Yes, the staging is memorable and touching, but I think it gets lost by the end of the show. There are many other greater ballads that'll entice people to vote for them unlike this, which I think will cause it's downfall. Could still sneak in though.
5. Slovenia ๐ธ๐ฎ
Disko by LPS
Chance of qualifying - 40%
I really really wish this had a shot to sneak in, but I fear the song just isn't strong enough. It is enticing and could rack up more points than we think, but I don't see it making it out of a semi this competitive.
6. Ukraine ๐บ๐ฆ
Stefania by Kalush Orchestra
Chance of qualifying - 100%
Sailing through, no doubt. Potential winner of the semi and the show. Nothing else to add.
7. Bulgaria ๐ง๐ฌ
Intention by Intelligent Music Project
Chance of qualifying - 5%
Follows the most gripping song of the night while simultaneously having no melody and no appeal whatsoever. One of the few entries dead on arrival.
8. Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ
De diepte by S10
Chance of qualifying - 80%
This is a pretty safe qualifier in my opinion. Wish they did more with the staging that would make this a sure fire qualifier, but I don't really see a world where a song of this high caliber misses out.
9. Moldova ๐ฒ๐ฉ
Trenuleศul by Zdob ศi Zdub and Advahov Brothers
Chance of qualifying - 50%
Putting this one in the exact same realm as Latvia. I think we're getting one and not the other, and for now, I'm predicting Latvia over Moldova. While this will prove something unique and exciting, I don't think people will gravitate to it as much as the other upbeat entries, causing it to borderline miss.
10. Portugal ๐ต๐น
Saudade, saudade by MARO
Chance of qualifying - 70%
I think this should be a solid qualifier. This song is just a breath of fresh air amongst this entire lineup and stands out as a unique piece of art. I think the juries are going to eat it up and the televote should prove a nice amount to help this succeed.
11. Croatia ๐ญ๐ท
Guilty Pleasure by Mia Dimลกiฤ
Chance of qualifying - 15%
I feel bad putting this so low, but it's just not happening. It's a sweet song but does absolutely nothing to entice voters to vote for it. It's going to get lost too and unfortunately don't see any path for this.
12. Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ
The Show by Reddi
Chance of qualifying - 40%
Also don't see this happening. Reddi are doing everything right, but I just don't think the song is right. Struggle to see people gravitating toward this which is a shame, but we are losing some great songs tomorrow, and I think this is one of them.
13. Austria ๐ฆ๐น
Halo by LUM!X (feat. Pia Maria)
Chance of qualifying - 60%
I still think that Ms. Maria is going to pull this off. I understand that her vocals aren't where they should be, but she gave a perfectly competent performance tonight and I feel like the televote has to go for this. I can still see this flopping, but I am throwing the positive vibes out there to get Austria to the final.
14. Iceland ๐ฎ๐ธ
Meรฐ hรฆkkandi sรณl by Systur
Chance of qualifying - 40%
I think this suffers the same fate as Denmark, where the song is so good, but just doesn't really entice anyone to vote for it. The sisters are all lovely and I'd love to see them qualify, but it just doesn't stand out enough in this semi unfortunately.
15. Greece ๐ฌ๐ท
Die Together by Amanda Georgiadi Tenfjord
Chance of qualifying - 100%
Convinced this is winning the semi. Is a winner contender. Perfection.
16. Norway ๐ณ๐ด
Give That Wolf a Banana by Subwoolfer
Chance of qualifying - 100%
Unfortunately this will be qualifying. I don't want to see it but it'll be happening.
17. Armenia ๐ฆ๐ฒ
Snap by Rosa Linn
Chance of qualifying - 65%
I think this should be fine, but I still feel like it could shock non qualify. The song isn't too strong and all the appeal comes from it closing the show and having great staging. Again, I still think this will qualify, but can also see a realm where it doesn't.
Since Semi Final 1 of Eurovision is in two days, I decided to list my 3 favorite songs from national selections that didn't get selected this year!
As per usual, I only really followed Melfest intently this year. Besides that, I did try and listen to all the fan favorite songs that I saw circulating online and did end up conjuring up a decent list of my favorites this year. Just know that I haven't listened to every single song, so my list will likely have all obvious favorite entries for a reason :) I'll write a little something on my three favorites then have a full top 11 at the bottom!!

Ram pam pam by BESS (Finland)
It's a crime that Finland had the bop of the century and decided not to send it. I really don't understand how the Finns can make this song one of their top streamed songs and then only give it THIRD in their national selection?? Bess should've won in a landslide. This is just so iconic, so legendary, and the stage show was so wild but it all worked. Love everything about this banger and at least Bess continuously racks up those streams unlike the actual Finnish act.
2nd goes to

Girls Can Do Anything by July Jones (Slovenia)
JULY JONES YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS!!!! The fact that Slovenia has one of the most diverse and exciting NFs yet then shy away from the acts that make their NF so exciting is always so unfortunate. This is just so so iconic. It gives me lowkey Kerli 2017 vibes which I also was obsessed with. This song is just so so good, so so fresh and July is the true definition of a performer. She sells this so well and makes an already great song even greater. This loss really hurt me, but again, July will ALWAYS be famous and deserves the world and more. She is the moment.

Ay mamรก by Rigoberta Bandini (Spain)
NOW THAT'S A LEGEND!!!! The grip this song had on me for an entire month will always remain unmatched in my Eurovision 2022 life. The amounts of time I would blast this just to get whiplash from the last minute brings me the fondest memories. This entire song is just great from start to finish. From the legendary opening, to the ICONIC m-m-m-mama's to the great buildup which explodes into one of the best endings of a song to ever grace my ears. This is just phenomenal. To everyone saying this would've flopped if it won, I DON'T CARE!!! Rigoberta is a legend and deserved to bring her boob globe to Turin. But it's fine, because she'll always remain a star and forever remain my most listened to song from Eurovision 2022. MAMร, MAMร, MAMAAAAAAAAAA
