Many many people audition for Survivor, and few lucky ones are chosen. Survivor Nicaragua is considered to be a reality TV show. By definition, those participating are real people, not actors. And it's not (supposed to be) scripted. Any twists in the tale are all down to the players and not planned by the producers.
It is tough out there, with miseries that we cannot vicariously feel by watching it on the telly. There are many hazards out there, people are ravenous, suffer from worse things than discomforts, and sometimes get injured. Thus some people cannot tolerate the conditions, and really want to leave. Some are fortunate enough to be voted out and avoid the ignominy of being labelled as quitters, but others fail to contrive to achieve even this.
In episode 12, any prior analysis of dynamics has suddenly been invalidated. Both the villainous NaOnka and the inactive Kelly Purple decided they had had enough and left on their own accord.
Kelly Purple was basically doing nothing, and a non-entity. She was in the rather untrustworthy alliance of five with Brenda, NaOnka, Chase, and Sash. From the little we saw of her, we would not have appreciated that she was probably miserable all the while despite being safe from elimination. She has achieved one dubious success - to be remembered as one of the two people who left in the same episode, rather than completely forgotten in future as just another person voted out.
NaOnka, though, was quite the opposite, and was always a central figure. Greedily dreaming of the million, she rationalised that whatever she did was justified as it helped her get closer to it. So she was ruthless in plotting, and did everything she could to acquire the idol and make it hers. And then she had to steal food, and deliver a tirade or two at tribal council - and yet still stay safe. As for her loyalty to Brenda, it meant nothing to her compared to the million.
But if she was schizophrenic, her weaker personality was triggered when the weather turned foul. This happened twice in the game, and the second time, weak NaOnka decided to stop and gave away the idol to Chase. Later on, strong NaOnka performed well in the challenge, helping her team to victory, and later on enjoying the reward. But weak NaOnka returned at tribal council, and confirmed her exit. She would have been memorable whether she quit or not, no doubt.
I would think NaOnka would be unpopular with most people, who would have been delighted for her to leave the game. But it would have been far preferable for her to be blindsided and embarrassed, and we have been deprived of this pleasure, and had to experience the anti-climax of her pathetically walking out.
We have further insights into the dynamics due to episode 11 being a review of the first ten episodes. And we realise why Sash felt it was fine to let Brenda get voted out - he had made deals with quite a number of people, and there would be enough people to not want to vote for him. We also saw Holly and NaOnka bond, and undoubtedly stick together, but that means nothing now. At this stage, the alliances seem to be Jane, Holly, and Chase (with idol courtesy of NaOnka) against Danny, Benry, and Fabio. Sash could join either side, whichever suits him. The idols have still survived, and one could be used to devastating effect. Perhaps if we're lucky, there might be some excitement.

Sash should def join with Holly. I so thought she was psycho at the start but now she seems pretty grounded. I bet there is one more change up and fabio lands on the "in" group; I think Benry and Danny are out for sure. Danny has made it this far for obvi reasons he is the weakest link; or so it seems.
I don't think I'd quit if I got to that point - idk tho. And I understand why they quit - but Rupert and Russel must be just sick to their stomachs at the quitters. They are probably just disgusted. There should be a "SUPER SURVIVOR" of double length lol
I think the previews indicate that Holly or Jane will be targetted next, so Sash would presumably join Benry, Danny, and Fabio. Anyone who's seen as too strong now would be a target, and most surprisingly it's the two old ladies.
