After the carnage of Season 1, which left us the Surviving Six, we’re back again for another season. What lies in store for these unsuspecting friends?

#UntilDawn

-----

In a fancy, rustic, luxurious cabin in the middle of a dark, northern forest, we see a singular light coming from a window upstairs, furthest to the left. Inside the room, there is a figure hammering away at something made of metal. They’re wearing a gas mask. Finally, the clanking stops, and they examine their work. Rain is falling hard outside; it’s nighttime.

We finally see what they’ve been working on-- a metal cross, big enough for a person to be put on while still a decent distance from the ground. Next to it is a loaded handgun, some rope, bullets, and a machete. In the corner of the room, by the door, a cat that’s clearly been dead for a while is lying on the floor. The person walks slowly toward a glass turret overlooking the front yard of the cabin, and takes off their mask. Stepping outside, they let the rain drench them completely.

END SCENE

6:30 PM. The sun is setting. It’s late summer/early fall. The air is cool. We’re in the Canadian wilderness, near the edges of a nature preserve about a couple miles away.

A caucasian/latina girl with short, dyed red hair, a leather jacket, heavy-rimmed hipster glasses, and dark jeans is walking through the cabin kitchen (the one from earlier), her phone in one hand and a bunch of bags in the other. This is AJ Lee, 20. Smart, helpful, nerdy.

AJ (on FaceTime): I just came in with my stuff. Get here soon, it’s creepy as fuck without anyone else in here!

A voice can be heard from the other end.

Voice: ...I’m literally walking up the trail as we speak. You said to take a right after the bear claw trail marker?
AJ: I said to take a left…
Voice: Wait, but….

AJ rolls her eyes, looks around, and gets some food and drinks (alcohol included) out of one of her bags, opening the fridge. She screams.

Voice: What is it?!
AJ: There’s a bunch of rotten food in here! You’d think that the people we’re renting this place from would’ve checked that…
Voice: Maybe they don’t care, considering the price it was to rent it…
AJ: It’s actually pretty expensive. It only SEEMS cheap, because 16 people are staying here for the weekend. It isn’t even plugged in…. damn.
Voice: Just… use some Clorox wipes.
AJ: Yeah, I’ll just wipe this motherfucker down.
Voice: You swear like a sailor, AJ.
AJ: No I don’t…
Voice: Okay, sure… also, by the way, I’m here. The front door is locked.
AJ: No it isn’t…

We finally switch to the perspective of the voice from the phone. It’s Emma Clifton: AJ’s best friend. 20, brown-hair in a ponytail, wearing a green undershirt and a yellow cardigan. Outdoorsy/adventurous, controlling at times, protective of others. The door swings open.

AJ: It’s really you!
Emma: Hey hey!

Emma and AJ hug.

AJ: Let me take some of your bags…
Emma: Thanks! So you really just rented this place from a total stranger?
AJ: It seemed legit enough.
Emma: I mean, yes. It’s definitely legit-looking.
AJ: I’m glad you’re the first to arrive. It would have been awkward if it was someone like Lizzie, or Cloe…
Emma: Or Bubbles…
AJ: Wow, hard to believe we’re friends with these people, right?
Emma: It’ll be good to reconnect… (eyeing AJ) Maybe smooth things over, for some of us.
AJ: I mean, it’s easy for you. Most of you guys don’t know everyone coming well enough to call “friends”. To me, you’re all my friends…
Emma: So the stakes are higher, I get it. But don’t be stressing, this is going to be SO fun! Now, for that refrigerator….

END SCENE

A red volkswagen pulls up to a trail opening by the road. A girl with dirty blonde hair and sunglasses gets out of the front, and a tan, fit, preppy guy in pink shorts and a Vineyard Vines vest with brown, short, styled hair gets out of the back. It’s Cloe Justice: AJ’s former friend. 20, savage, funny, sweet; and Michael Justice: Cloe’s older brother. 22, smart, egotistical, stubborn.

Cloe: Thanks again, Brad!

Cloe gives her bag to Michael, who is already holding his own bags.

Michael (dropping her bags): Oops.
Cloe: I need my hands to use the GPS.
Michael: I don’t know what to tell you…
Cloe: You’re such a dick, Michael.

Michael laughs, walking away. Cloe sighs and picks up her bag.

Michael: How much did you give Brad, anyway?
Cloe: Just fifty. He’s picking us up too.
Michael: That’s still a little too much…
Cloe: How much would you have paid him?
Michael: I could’ve gotten someone to do it for free (grinning)
Cloe: Yeah? Which one of your hoes?
Michael: Any of them…
Cloe: Right, okay. Remind me why I invited you? Oh wait, you invited yourself, because you’re thirsty as hell.
Michael: Look, Bubbles and I have been talking…
Cloe: Yeah, I know. You’re trying to get with the one person here that makes me want to die.
Michael: You’re so dramatic!
Cloe: Whatever. (looking at her phone) I can’t get a stupid signal, either.
Michael: You should’ve gotten the upgrade.
Cloe: Can we use your phone?
Michael: Uh… I’m trying to save my battery.
Cloe: So you can keep sexting her? God, you’re annoying…

Suddenly, two people can be seen walking from up the road. A messy-haired guy wearing a drug rug and a curly-haired girl with brown eyes, wearing a flannel and denim. They are Mac Anderson: Michael’s best friend. 21, tough, bad boy, druggie, and Avril Michaels: Secretly likes Michael. 23, stoner, bubbly, clumsy.

Cloe (whispering): Remind me why you’re friends with…. them? Can you not make friends with anyone else?

Michael ignores her.

Mac: What?! No way!
Avril: Michael! How did you get here, your car wasn’t in the lot…
Michael: We didn’t want to mess with driving all the way out here and parking, so Brad drove us.
Avril: College Brad?
Mac: The Brad from our Psych class?
Michael: Yeah, that Brad.
Cloe: Sounds rad. Any of you got a phone?
Avril: Oh… hi, Cloe.

Cloe puts on a contrived smile.

Mac: We can use mine.
Michael (to Avril): Want to hold my bags?
Avril (playfully sighing): You can’t do anything yourself.
Michael: Is that a yes?
Avril: No… (Michael makes a sad face) Okay fine.
Michael (grinning): Thanks.

Mac shakes his head at Michael and pulls out a blunt.

Mac: Wanna hit? (Michael says nothing) Just kidding! I know you don’t… partake.
Michael: Sorry I’m not a stoner like you guys.
Avril: You just need to have fun!
Cloe: (clearing her throat) Wanna head out?
Avril: Don’t you like to smoke?
Cloe: Yeah, actually.
Avril: Well, I can give you some for 10 bucks.
Cloe: I’m not paying you anything, hun.

Mac hands Cloe the blunt. She takes a hit.

Cloe: Such a gentleman. Let’s get going.

The four friends start walking down the narrow trail. Mac and Michael walk ahead, Cloe and Avril uncomfortably walk next to one another.

END SCENE

A rapid stream is cascading from a slight slope. It’s about two feet across. An Asian girl with straight black hair is looking at it uneasily. This is Gwen Delago: Crushing on Brody. 19, shy, kind, romantic. Suddenly, a figure splashes into the stream in front of her. She screams. We see a muscular guy, wearing a football jersey and joggers, with sandy brown hair and a square face looking at her. This is Brody Watuks: Hope’s boyfriend. 19, athletic, nurturing, loyal.

Brody (laughing): Sorry-- I just had to do it!
Gwen (flustered): Um, no, it’s cool!

Gwen’s shaking. Brody looks remorseful.

Brody: So, uh… good to see you! (calling behind Gwen) Over here, guys!

Gwen awkwardly nods and looks behind her to see three girls walking up. One has brown hair tied up into a ponytail, wearing a fleece jacket and athletic shorts; one has light, wavy, blonde/brown hair and wearing a sundress with a cardigan; the final girl has a tan, freckled face with auburn-colored bangs. From first to last, they are: Anna Stacy: Lizzie’s best friend. 19, problematic, innocent, sensitive; Lizzie Stansted: Michael’s ex-girlfriend. 20, adventurous, loving, passionate; Hope Painter: Brody’s girlfriend. 20, athletic, fearful, nice.

Anna: Oh, wow! It’s Gwen! Hey, Gwen!

Gwen waves and smiles.

Hope: Are we almost there? Guys, there could be bears anywhere around here…
Lizzie: Well, it looks like there’s a stream blocking our path.
Brody (going over to Hope, putting his arm around her): Don’t press, it’s okay.
Hope: I just have a love-hate relationship with the outdoors. I almost got killed by a bear the last time I went camping.
Anna: We know, you’ve said this a million times!
Hope: Well, it’s kind of a big fucking deal.
Lizzie: It is…
Brody: Yeah, babe. Don’t worry, though. I’ll keep you safe. (he kisses her) Gwen here looked like she was just about to go across.
Gwen: More like I was just standing here trying to Google where I was. I don’t know how to get across (laughing)
Lizzie: Well, one more member to our band of incompetence can’t hurt, right? Look, I say we just go through it. It’s shallow enough.
Hope: Bad idea…
Anna: If you try it, I will too.
Hope (to Anna): Don’t encourage her.
Anna: Someone has to go. Do it, Lizzie!

Lizzie takes a breath and takes a step into the water.

Lizzie: Guys, it’s fine…

All of the sudden, she loses her footing, slipping and falling into the water.

Hope: Lizzie!
Brody: Shit…

Lizzie lets out a gasp and is pulled downstream.

END SCENE

Two girls are walking on a trail. One is chubby, platinum-blonde, big boobs, and lots of make-up; the other is a small, thin girl with light brown, short hair and glasses, her face covered in rosacea. They are: Bubbles Upland: Likes Drew. 20, hot as fuck, smart, funny; and Rosey Anhilida: Anna’s enemy. 19, cute, timid, shy.

Bubbles: What bus did you take?
Rosey: The one leading out of-
Bubbles: I took an Uber. And the driver was totally hitting on me.
Rosey: What’s an Uber?
Bubbles: “What’s an Uber?” Are you freaking kidding me right now?
Rosey: No…
Bubbles: OMG, Rosey, your face is getting even more red than it usually is. I think you could use some acne cream.
Rosey: It’s called rosacea. It's a condition.
Bubbles: Whatever. Anyways, I’m totally going to fuck Drew tonight.
Rosey: Wait, are you still an escort?
Bubbles: I was NEVER an escort, I was just a stripper! Don’t be rude, Rosey. I’m never rude to you.
Rosey: Sorry…
Bubbles: It’s fine, I forgive you. Now, hello? Where’s my reception? (calling out) Anyone here?
Rosey: My map says we only-
Bubbles: Your map has only led us in a straight line.
Rosey: It’s been leading us down a trail.
Bubbles: Ugh. I’m so over this. (pulling out a Starbucks frappucino from her purse) Wanna sip?
Rosey (laughing): Sure.
Bubbles: I’m glad I met you by the trail head, Ro. You’re definitely nicer than most of these skanks.
Rosey: Uh, thanks? (her eyes light up) Look, Bubbles! There’s the gate!

A gothic gate can be seen from a distance. The girls cheer.

Bubbles: Time to turn up!

END SCENE

A guy with dark hair and blue eyes, wearing a plaid shirt and khakis, a brown backpack on his back, is walking up to a restroom, oddly located in the middle of the forest. This is Drew Caron: Erika’s best friend. 22, affectionately funny, reader, daring.

Drew (gawking at the building): What is this place doing here?

He turns the corner--there’s a person sitting on the bench.

Drew: Ahh! Whoa…

It’s an African-American girl with dark, chocolate colored skin and long locks of hair, scrolling through her phone. She looks up, startled. It’s Erika Mendoza: Likes Hope. 22, beautiful, strong, loyal.

Erika: Drew?!
Drew: You scared the shit out of me…
Erika (smiling, shocked): You’re one to talk…
Drew: Yeah, I guess I didn’t need to make such a loud exclamation.
Erika: What? (laughing) You say the funniest things, boy.
Drew: Whatever. (rolling his eyes) I didn’t know you’d be here.
Erika: I RSVP’ed late. I almost didn’t come; you know how I don’t like most of these people.
Drew: It’ll be fun, seeing some old college friends, though.
Erika: Yeah, kind of… Why are we even having this get-together anyways?
Drew: AJ just HAD to have a party. I also think it might have to do with… you know…
Erika: Her mom’s death, yeah. She probably needs us. And…  I want to be there for her. (eyeing Drew’s backpack- a book is jutting out) Careful, your stuff is about to fall out.
Drew: I must’ve left it unzipped.
Erika (seeing a book): What book is that anyway?
Drew: It’s this book by a guy named Travis Dixon. Heard of him?
Erika: You know I’m not a big reader…
Drew: He survived this horrific attack where, like, a bunch of people died. He was just going to this party with his friends in the middle of the woods, and over half of them were killed by these mysterious creatures.
Erika: Party with his friends in the woods? Kind of like tonight.
Drew: Yeah (laughing)
Erika: You’re so weird! Are you trying to just, like, induce an anxiety attack or something? This is already the sketchiest party I’ve ever been to….
Drew: Do we even know who owns the place?
Erika: No, AJ found it off of fucking Craiglist. (sighing) It’ll be fun though.
Drew: How’s Jane?
Erika: We broke up.
Drew: Oh… I’m sorry.
Erika: I’m not. She was a lying, cheating slut. I needed a fresh start, anyways.
Drew: If worst comes to worst, you can make out with me again.
Erika (smirking): You’d like that, wouldn’t you?
Drew: I already told you, if you weren’t gay, I couldn’t be friends with you. I’d be too busy catching feels.
Erika: Shut the hell up! Now, wanna go pee so we can get going?
Drew: Who were you waiting for?
Erika: Oh… it’s not important. I’ll wait for you, then we can go.
Drew: Okay, cool.

Drew goes into the run-down restroom building.

Drew: Shit, there are no lights…

A few seconds pass, and then we hear a scream.

END SCENE

Radio announcer: Just three years ago today, ten people died in one of the greatest mysteries of modern day. After an outing at a lake house went awry, five people, all disoriented and steadfast in their beliefs that “supernatural creatures” were responsible for the deaths, gave their testimonies. Rennac Crow, Maya Rivera, Ethan Warsol, and the crazed Judith Cyrus, who many believe to be the true murderer, as well as bestselling author Travis Dixon, managed to escape. Some say that Wyatt Oak, Cyrus’ cousin, managed to survive, but the authorities and personnel on the scene remain adamant that she never managed to make it out alive. We now-

A hand switches the radio off. A South-American guy with a nose ring, dark eyes, a buzzcut, and wearing a hoodie parks his car into a space. He takes out a cigarette, gets out of the car, lights up, and sighs. This is Justin Williams: Emma’s old friend. 22, sly, cunning, and athletic.

Justin: Time to “bond”.

He begins to walk out of the parking lot in the direction of the road. His phone buzzes, and he reads a text.

“Be careful, okay? I can’t help worrying. I know that’s all everyone in our family does, but, after what happened to me, you can never be too careful…” -Maya

Justin (smirking): I won’t need to be careful… don’t… you… worry…

He smiles, replies with a “I’ll be careful!” text, and puts his phone back in his pocket. He begins to walk at a brisk pace. From behind him, we can see a silhouette by his car, slashing the tires.

How did you like the episode? Anything more you want to see included?
I really liked all of the scenes and seeing them interact with each other. I would, however, like to see longer scenes. I personally don't mind reading longer episodes since it's written really well.

Also, can Erika be Bi and realize she really loves Drew because after reading their scene I'm here for #Drika lol

1. Really damn sketchy xD
2. I really liked it. I'd just have to say that the descriptions of the characters seemed kinda lazy, but it doesn't take away from the story! (:
3. It's really early in the storyline so I think it's too soon to say. I'm glad my character (Gwen) seems nice.
4. Brody seems to have a lot of romance going on with him. His ex, his girlfriend, and someone who has a crush on him are all with him at the moment. I get the feeling that they're in some trouble down the line.
5. Not sure. I thought he was the murderer until we saw the person slashing his tires.
6. Justin, Lizzie, etc

Can't wait for the next part! (:

How did you like the episode? Anything more you want to see included? I think its good for now given its an introductory episode, very good.
Early favorite characters? Least favorites? I don't want to start choosing just yet, only introductory so far, I'll wait for next episode, but I defs strong dislike Bubbles.
What relationships seem the most likely to “explode” in the future? I see a possibly heartbroken Avril with her crush on Michael. Like that whole prank thing like with Hannah in the game
What’s up with Justin, and why did Maya text him? Maybe their related somehow, she cares about him, but I don't get the whole relationship vibe I get a more cousins vibe.
Anyone likely to fall into dire danger soon? Probably Justin or AJ

How did you like the episode? Anything more you want to see included? I actually really liked this  ^_^
What relationships seem the most likely to “explode” in the future? I'm not too sure tbh
What’s up with Justin, and why did Maya text him? Justin must have some kind of connection to Maya.  Why else would he get a text from her?
Anyone likely to fall into dire danger soon? I read Episode 2 before Episode 1, so I already know about you-know-who, but other than that, maybe Drew and Ericka
