The first is POD1 after Mini gastric bypass, his drainage port summed 100cc of blood, unexpectedly with 2 grams loss of hemoglobin - he needed hexakapron, a medication useful in stopping acute bleeding - eventually the port stopped draining blood and his HB stabilized.
The second is a patient with a huge mass metastatic, obstructing her right kidney’s drainage, required a nephrostomy which was put last night, she bleed through it quiet a lot with very low hemoglobin, she needed red blood cells infusion. Eventually stabilized and HB is a bit higher!
The third is a patient had a huge surgery of small bowel resection and ileostomy, finished the surgery with severely low hemoglobin had to receive multiple blood units, getting better now, but might be going for a second look surgery!
The high fevers, some due to atelectasia day 1 post surgery, pancreatitis and a pneumonia
