10 games, a retrospective. Jul 16, 2009: 10 games behind me and what do I have to say about Tengaged so far.

It's interesting, I joined because I had a friend on the site, spending most their time here and I got curious... so much that I eventually made an account and joined a game, #7823. Can't say I remember much about that one, I said two sentences and didn't come back lol, came 19th.

I pretty much dismissed Tengaged for a few months, but then something pulled me back, I decided to try again and in my next game I opened up a little more and met some nice people (who I'd like to say I'm still friends with now) but I still held back.
It was by my 4th game I'd started to learn the basics, I still acted like a fool though, plus everyone and be friendly. Doesn't really work as a tactic. I even kept along these lines in Rookies, much to the chagrin of my friends who strategized and worked out the best way to win.

It wasn't until my 3rd Rookies and 8th game till I really learned what this meant, the way people play you, how to fight back, and even then I would say I didn't do the best job of it, I got further than most expected... it was really hairy for a day or two, but I did my best and I got 2nd for it. I like to think I learned a lot in that game, it's pretty much kill or be killed to some people... forgetting the social aspect. Why make friends when you have an established group you can win with every time? Why indeed.

It can be fun to play with friends, but it can be just as fun to make new ones.

The fact is I find these kill or be killed tactics running through rookies as standard fare, it's understandable, people are careful, it's a group of 10, there's risk, HoH, PoV.
In 2 of my 6 Casting games I've had the same happen, a strong alliance pushing out the people just having a laugh, trying to enjoy themselves, some still learning the game... what I wonder is is this the best game to be teaching these people right from the start? Neg, lie, back stab, fight your way to the top. Is it really?

It only breeds more of the same... they realise that's the way to win and it's what they do, while it only leads the more caring of players, the ones like me who just want to chat and have fun to want to leave the site in utter frustration. It's painful, I like this site and I like the friends I've made here, but I don't want to play in stressful games, where I have to watch my back and I don't know who is after me, you could say in that case the alliances are doing their job well but still... for the individual do you think it's fun? Would you like to be that person? Have you been?

Two in a row! Jul 15, 2009: Wow, two of my designs went up on auction back to back... pretty cool :)

I always thought I had a hard time of it, I try not to advertise my designs, passing them around friends and most the time the ones I work on the hardest just don't get anywhere but to see two go up together is great.

I just wanted to say thanks to people that voted for them and my friends who told me to keep working on them, even when I felt it was pointless. I can't complain any more, lol.

Trapped in Ice, defrosted. Jul 14, 2009: So I was the one that made trapped in ice and unsurprisingly overnight while I was asleep, it was removed.

No mail, no word, just gone.
I guess it didn't count as an hair ornament, so my question to the moderators or Randomize or whoever reads this is... why do and did these?

If my designs are going to be removed because they don't fit into a various section can I just say, ADD MORE SECTIONS! Or, remove all those designs, not just ones you see fit to.

I will post it again, and I'll improve on it first, try and make it even better. When I do I'm sure it will be removed and I'll lose desginer points for it, I recall reading of a penalty.

Well I won't be quashed as a designer because you spot my designs and not others... heck are the parrots even considered hair ornaments? They sit on the shoulders, but even I like them.

Anyway, if you want to see funny, clever, wacky designs even reach auction you have to let yourselves be heard, tell Randomize and anyone else who is moderating this site that YOU want to buy these and YOU want to see them reach there.

This half-assed attempt at moderation just makes me sick, ban them all or ban none.

Showers and Leather (and the design lab) Jun 2, 2009: So I've been playing with the design lab a bit more, as have a lot of people, look at all those designs in the auction now! Grats to the winners so far, so much money to spend lol.

But me I can't help but think up ideas for what to design next, I love to play around with stuff like that. So here are a few more of my designs.

Firstly, a simple leather top, I took some time, tried to get it looking good, hopefully some will like it, a rather simple design though, what was expected of the design lab I think,

This next one just came to me when I was thinking about the background and what I could do with it... there's already many clever ideas using the clothes option to superimpose designs on top, so why not steam?
and why not add a shower head in the background, it took a bit of trial and error, I wanted to have a tiled shower behind him but it seems there are constraints, randomize likes to have his backgrounds transparent! So I did what I could,

I have to say, after thinking of the shower it's given me a few more ideas to really think outside the box in terms of the design lab, I'd love to see what you guys and gals can come up with not thinking about the clothes, but thinking about the environment around your avatar.

Let's think outside the box, let's design some things that we never thought of before, less shirts with images on, more vision!

Designs and Daisies. May 29, 2009: So the design lab has arrived, and there's already so many designs on there.
I just thought I'd make blog and see what everyone's thoughts were on the shop so far, good/negative/couldn't care less! :)

Myself I'm liking the idea, might be a while before we see some really great designs but I'm liking a lot of the stuff already posted.
Oh and congratulations to Noel for being the first designer in the auction, good luck to the bidders!
