camell22 - While I do like the song and it definitely fits that earworm category, it was a little less punchy than I was hoping for. The vibe of it of course is great but I think I wanted a higher BPM for this round.
moup94 - This hits the theme dead on! Fucking love this song, just good mindless pop music. This song was soooo robbed of the attention Dance The Night Away got. Normally I’m not big on obvious samples but its too good to even care. Really good job this week.
MISSImogen - Oh you came in the competition mad as hell. This was another great pull for you tonight, and the subtle effects in the background fit in with the vibe completely. And once again, you picked something that really showed it’s teeth in that chorus that had me paying attention.
Alisowned - Now to be honest, this might be pushing that pop category a bit. Even if it’s got hyperpop elements in it, it’s kind of also pretty house-y in the repeating parts between verse/ chorus. But that being said, what’s pushing you up here is how much I LOVED the song. Like immediately in my saved songs. The voices coming in at the beginning do something so good in my brain, and the chorus is like… uplifting.
BoyToy4Cato - I think the song was good, but sometimes I think Charli gets in her own way with production choices she makes. Like the effects in this song were overpowering the song in parts. And I don’t know if that clashing really works with the “bright” ask. And also everyone else kind of came in the gate swinging for the most part and this takes a second to get to it’s groove.
turkeylover - NAURRR i think we’re doing the thing we did last time where I’m squirrely with what I’m into and it took a couple of rounds for you to get on my wavelength with that. That being said, afrobeats is POPular music right now, so I think this was a creative way to stand out and while it’s a little light, it’s a very pretty song. And I do think the prechorus-hook is infectious.
