Nintendo is planning a revenue-sharing affiliate program for those using game play footage of its games on YouTube. All this means is that now Lets Players will have to get permission to publish game play videos on YouTube. With this program both parties ( The LPer and Nintendo) will spit the profit from the video. This is great news as a year ago you couldn’t make any money off of Nintendo related videos do to copyright ID.

For some reason people are getting enraged about this. People are claim that “Nintendo is a greedy evil company that just wants to suck money from the little guy. ” Yet they don’t realize the Nintendo has the legal right to do this and this is kinda great move on their part. It shows that Nintendo is finally getting how the internet and YouTube is great way to promote their products. To me their is very little to really be complaining about in this issue. Lets Players are still making money even if it reduced. Its far better then have Lets players videos getting taken down. From what I said before Nintendo has the right to make money off the product they made.
