A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? you have to give a reason with your answer.

Yes becuase because the bird standing on top of the truck would add, however much the bird weighs, to the trucks weight on the bridge. Its like if you were to stand on a scale and place a 10 pound weight on your head. The weight of the weight does not magically disapear and it adds 10 pounds to your weight on the scale. BTW that is very impressive for a bird to land ontop of a moving vehicle.
No, bridges don't display exact weight it can hold, it can probably hold alot more than it says but displays it for safety reasons. The light weight shouldn't make a difference.
But if you want to be precise, since the truck's driven half way across a one mile bridge, the chances are the fuel that's been burned along the way weighs more than the bird which has just landed.
