How does a charity game work exactly?

Cause I may do one for my 100th game on here but I'm not quite sure how it works, would someone be able to explain?

You get some friends (or people willing to help) to join with you, they allow you to spam, plus you etc. to ensure you win.

Pretty much you join and announce it as your charity, and then friends + people who like helping in charities (me) join to help you win. Be sure to have a few people ready to join the game before you start.
