To Lie or not to Lie?

Jul 31, 2008 by Kuosical
imageI've yet to imploy the tool of "lying" in Tengaged yet, but I'm very curious to see how far someone can get away with it.

Some play a very honest and truthful game, and some work together with the ideas or plan to stab someone in the back. But what about straight up lying? And not just about yourself or things like that, but more "he said, she said," lies, flat out causing confusion and conspiricies and paranoia.

I'd be very interested to see someone implement this throughout a game and see how far they get there. The only thing I can see is blogging messing that up. If you back someone/an alliance, the hope is similar to Big Brother that the person can no longer communicate with those still "in the house" but a nice big fat blog about what someone said and didn't mean could screw that all up.

Hm...interesting...

I think it'd be interesting if "private messages" became open for PUBLIC EYES after a game has ended. Similar to how audiences/houseguest who are no longer in the house can see what actually happened while their back was turned.

But that may screw with the game toooo much.

But I love the potential drama, but I don't see myself ever implementing the lying tactic...It just doesn't bode well with me.

Lies sound like good fun, but you'd really have to be a committed games-player and keep on top of everything you say, and to who.

I might try a game where I do nothing but outright lie whenever I'm on the main chat page, and reluctantly tell the truth in PMs and Blogs. Maybe not even then.

food for thought, anyhow!

I does sound great fun, but like the above said you would have to be very commited and maybe practice your techniques in previous games.

You have to be a master manipulator to be able to pull that off.
You can't just say to person A that person B has a gameplan to get them out, because person A might have an alliance with person B or be friends already. You have to know who you can lie to and who about without it exploding back in your face.
And chances are that if it explodes back in your face it'll surface i the main chat- so any future games will be able to look back and see you aren't trustworthy. Overall unless you're certain you're a good liar it isn't a good idea because chances are it'll go awry.
I've met plenty of liars who think they're brilliant and act lovely in the main chat but everyone works them out in private withing seconds and they don't even realise.

That is is the question eh? lying can be an exelent tool. but u do have to be carefull about "who" u lie about not exactly "what" because if u lie to a person u just met theyre gonna blow u off like ur a retard or somthing. but this part gets tricky... lie to a "best" friend or just a friend?... never lie to ur best friend thats just good moral and it come back to haunt u if u write a "burdon blog" ~whats a burdon blog?~ well ill tell u what a burdon blog is... its a blog u wish u never wrote. simple enough? well and u can lie to just friends but u have to have at least like 5 private messages inbetween u.then they partaily trust u and thell do anything u say just to be nice.

so basicly.... lie to srangers? NO.... lie to ur best friend? .... NO....lie to friends... yes... lolz that sums it up back to u koiscal. keep up the blogs!!! :)
