A Legitimate Analysis

Jul 23, 2009 by PatriciaSNips
Of the reasons to vote for and against Haskova and BioDork. It seems a lot of people are blogging about this without any actual perspective beyond OH YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR THIS ONE. This blog is an attempt to make sense of the arguments for/against either side.

<p>Haskova came into Stars somewhat unexpectedly after a long time off from it with a rather curious mission; playing as an extension of the community as opposed to an individual. This was probably the best strategic route with the massive pre-made alliance that this game has; to say that it was her only choice would not be a major understatement. The question is: is she actually voting the way we tell her to? There have been some allegations that she hasn't in fact been keeping true to her word to be "Tengaged's Player". The main issue I have with these allegations are that they seem to mostly be coming from Uskyld and BioDork - two members of the large pre-made alliance that she is posing a threat to all on her own. The real question is: is that really relevant in the first place? If she can pull the wool over the eyes of the voting public, then she's still playing a hell of a game. If she's not, she's making a strategic choice that allows people to feel they have control over the game to some extent, which should gain her a good number of votes anyways. If Haskova survives this eviction vs. BioDork, then expect her to be here to stay for a good long time.

On the other hand, we have BioDork. In Stars 25, he managed to do something Haskova has never been able to do - win. In a narrow vote over Cosgrove and 2cool4school, he etched his place onto Tengaged history, having survived eviction votes twice. He is part of the great pre-made alliance that has dominated this Stars so far; the main debate over whether or not he deserves your vote to stay or your vote to evict boils down to whether or not you feel pre-made alliances are a better strategic move than what Haskova is doing, or whether or not you feel BioDork and the pre-made alliance will be more entertaining than what Haskova is doing. The main thing that gives me pause about BioDork is his outright nasty attack in order to stay in the game; is he really that worried that Haskova has the support to make it far?

To summarize, this vote can be summed up into one thing: Flavors v. Pre-mades. It seems that personal matters will play much less into this vote than one would expect with such polarizing figures up on the block, in favor of possibly settling one of the greatest strategic arguments in Tengaged history. Either way, we're in for an interesting time.

Also, I had an idea for an image to go with this blog, but I had a hard time photoshopping Haskova and BioDork's avatar heads onto Tyson and Holyfield :(
