With the surprise voting twist for the Lupino tribe, Mike was voted out by a mere extra single vote, after Claud decided to give Julian the immunity.
Rhys and Kenya rekindled about their time spent together in last season.
The feud between Kara and Trey resulted in another loss of an original Hirudo tribemate, as Trey was voted out and became the first member of the jury.
At the Lupino tribe, Kara was extremely relieved that she got to survivor another day. She bonded with Julian as they discussed the massive number of original Striga tribemates still in the game. They felt that maybe it'd be best for them to unite with David to take out the Striga people. Julian mentioned that he was not meshing that well with David before because of his alliance with Rhys and Guillomouve. Kara thought that new alliances could be made if they worked hard enough.
David and Jack both started spending a lot of time together. They talked about past relationships and how they were out of the dating game for quite a while. They were bonding over their tribe experiences and they both felt they needed to fight hard to stay in this game at this point.
With all his closest allies on the opposing tribe, Benj felt rather lonely especially without the company of Danielle.
Benj: (To camera) I'm really missing Danielle right now. I'm starting to feel that our friendship is getting a bit more than what I thought it was. I just hope that the merge can come sooner so that I can finally meet her again.

At the Hirudo tribe, Danielle, Rhys and D.C. were discussing the impending merge. They were counting number of people that they could count on after the merge to see if they could stay stealthy in their operations. D.C. felt that he had a good connection with Kara, and Rhys said that he would have David with him, while Danielle stressed the bond between her and Benj. They were sure that if they made it to merge, their path would be quite easy.
Claud and Zak started noticing Danielle's bonds with D.C. and Rhys, and they were concerned about her loyalty to them. They were afraid that the Striga Four alliance was breaking down as they felt that even Benj was slipping away a little bit. They contemplated cluing Kenya on it so that they could snip Danielle's alliance before it got too big. But they were not sure if they could trust Kenya enough. They planned on talking to Kenya soon about making a deal with her.
Kenya: (To camera) I feel that I still don't have any people that I could truly rely on. All I have right now is just the immunity necklace around my neck. I need to do something with it or try using it to gain some alliances, or else I could be screwed in this game.

Good morning, everyone. Hirudo, take a look at the new Lupino tribe, with Trey voted out at the last tribal council. *Kenya and D.C. were a bit surprised at the results.*
Now let's get to today's reward challenge. In today's reward challenge, members from each tribe will square off with each other in a battle revolving around strategy and balance. Here is today's reward challenge:

Kara vs. Claud
Kara tried her best to distract Claud as she closed in on him to attempt knocking his idol off. Claud took a swift turn and avoided the attempt and was closing in on Kara. As he was about to knock of Kara's idol, Kara quickly dodged and knocked off Claud's idol from down under.
KARA wins one point for LUPINO!
D.C. vs. David
It was quite an even fight between the two, as they were both trying their best to knock off each other's idols. It took them quite a while to even get close to each other until David knocked off D.C.'s idol by changing the direction of his attack, causing D.C. to miscalculate his steps.
DAVID wins one point for LUPINO!
Julian vs. Zak
Zak ran right in and started rushing to Julian, which caused him to panic and he almost lost grip of his idol. Zak then threw the idol up in the air and knocked off Julian's idol before his own's hit the ground.
ZAK wins one point for HIRUDO!
Rhys vs. Benj
Benj tried to mimic Zak's tactic and started rushing to Rhys. Rhys took a nice turn and managed to avoid any physical contact with Benj. Benj then ran towards Rhys while throwing his idol into the air. But he was not able to knock off Rhys' idol before his hit the ground.
RHYS wins one point for HIRUDO!
Jack vs. Kenya
Jack and Kenya were both nervous as they both knew this would be the deciding battle. In an attempt to intimidate Kenya, Jack was shouting to try distracting Kenya. But Kenya didn't pay attention to the noise and swiftly closed in Jack in an attempt to knock off Jack's idol. After a few seconds of battling with each other, one knocked off the other's idol before their own hit the ground...

At the Lupino tribe, everyone applauded Kara's and David's valid effort for the tribe even though the tribe didn't end up winning the challenge. Julian gathered Kara and David together and discussed briefly about the possibility of the three of them joining forces together before Jack and Benj noticed. Julian and Kara were quite adamant about eliminating the original Striga tribemates and they were trying to convince David to be on board. David said that he understood the situation and he would vote with them if they were to go to tribal.
David: (To camera) It seems like I just went from yesterday's odd vote out to today's swing vote. I need to assess the situation very clearly just for my own sake in order to stay in this game. I really hate the fact that Rhys is all the way on the other side and that I have nobody to rely on at the moment.

At the Hirudo tribe, everybody was having fun enjoying the deserts and drinks they won from the reward challenge. Everybody seemed happy with the tribe until D.C. brought up Kenya's necklace. Kenya admitted openly to the tribe that her necklace was in fact an immunity necklace and she could use them as she pleased. The entire tribe got a bit awkward as everyone wary of the necklace situation not only because of Kenya's possession of it, but also because they knew that Jack has one on the other tribe as well. Kenya said that she really didn't want this target on her back but since she was a returner in this game, she felt that she needed that necklace to ensure her own safety. Danielle threw in a seemingly joking comment that if Kenya disposed of the necklace, they'd promise her not to vote her off. Everybody else seemed to agree but Kenya was hesitant on the decision.
Danielle: (To camera) Would I really not vote her off if she loses the necklace? Maybe. Honestly I feel like I'm in a very good spot right now, and if this tribe goes to tribal, it would be horrible because the only person that I don't have any control over has an immunity necklace around her neck. I don't really want to make any difficult decisions right now.

Hirudo tribe, I hope you had a wonderful day enjoying all the deserts and drinks from the reward, and Lupino tribe, I hope your luck would finally turn around as we go into today's immunity challenge:
First thing first, Hirudo tribe, I'll need your immunity back. *Zak handed back the immunity idol.* Once again, immunity is back up for grab. On my go, you will all race through a series of obstacles. You will then untie knots, releasing a bridge road. You will then chop off a rope, releasing a load of puzzle pieces. You will then locate 18 letter pieces from the scattered puzzle pieces to spell out a 5-word phrase that will spell out a message. First tribe to get it right, wins immunity and will be safe from tribal council. Hirudo, since you have one member outstanding, please choose someone to sit out. You cannot sit out Danielle. *Hirudo chose to sit out Claud.* I'll give you a few minutes to strategize, then we'll get started...

For immunity, survivors ready. GO!
Both tribe rushes through the obstacle course, but both David and Zak were slowing down their tribes as they were not as flexible going through the obstacles. But both tribes were neck and neck through the obstacle course and they all almost made it to the knots at the same time.
Jack and Julian were working on the knots for Lupino, as Kenya and Rhys were working on the knots for Hirudo. Jack and Julian were having big problem with the knots as they were not able to untie the knots right. Kenya and Rhys soon finished untying the knots and everyone from the Hirudo tribe moved on to the rope section of the challenge.
As Jack and Julian were finally finished with the knots, Danielle was already chopping on the rope for Hirudo. David soon assumed the chopping duty for Lupino, and he soon caught up with Danielle as he was very efficient with his chopping while Danielle's chopping was a lot weaker than David's. Both team ended up chopping off the rope at about the same time, releasing all the puzzle pieces.
Everybody rushed to collect all the letter pieces for their tribes as Kara and Benj, D.C. and Zak were all getting ready to work on the puzzles. They all read the puzzle and it was:

Kara, Benj, D.C., and Zak were all trying to guess what the phrase would be as the others collected the puzzle pieces. They all started assembling the phrase as they got all the letters and it was unclear what the message would be. Kara and Benj were trying their best to work together and they soon figured out one of the words must be "you", while D.C. was kind of getting in the way of Zak solving the puzzle, but Zak soon realized one of the words would be "win".
Both teams soon figured out one of the words was "and" but they were both stuck at the puzzle as each tribe only had two words figured out at this point. Kara was trying to figure out what the letter "m" could be in this phrase, while Benj was staring at the letter "s". Zak quickly assembled the word "merge" together while D.C. kind of just gave up helping.
As Zak realized that the message must have something to do with merge, Kara and Benj suddenly were able to assembled the word "this". Both tribes were neck and neck with each other, until one tribe finished the puzzle just a few seconds before the other did...

At the Lupino tribe, everyone was celebrating their win as they all applauded Kara and Benj's teamwork in solving the puzzle. David was extremely relieved that they didn't have to go through tribal as he was still not sure what he would've done with the vote. As of now, it seemed that all the tribemates were content with David. Julian and Kara continued to bond with each other, while Jack and Benj were seemingly able to look past their previous differences in their original tribe as Benj confided in Jack his feeling for Danielle.
Jack: (To camera) I'm starting to see a split between the original Striga tribe members and this is the perfect time for me to slip in for a good position. It looks like Benj and Danielle are together, while Zak and Claud are closer with each other. I need to continue my new found friendship with Benj to see if I could go with his alliance to get myself further in this game.

At the Hirudo tribe, everybody started getting paranoid about what would happen at tribal council. It seemed impossible for anyone to have a private chat with each other without everybody else noticing, therefore it was very awkward for all of them for a while. They asked Zak what the message of the puzzle said as none of the other tribemates including D.C. had read the solved puzzle after the game was over. Zak contemplated about withholding the information but he eventually informed them that the message read "win this and you merge". Understanding the importance of this vote, as the message clearly indicated that they'd merge after this tribal, everyone scattered to discuss the voting with their allies.
Danielle, D.C. and Rhys gathered to discuss the possibility of blindsiding Kenya from this game. They agreed that they needed to pull Kenya aside to convince her that she's not in danger and she should not use her immunity necklace. Rhys was a bit hesitant to the decision as he felt that he had a good relationship with Kenya, but he agreed that this would be the best decision for their alliance.
Claud and Zak pulled Kenya aside and they tried to talk Kenya into voting with them. Kenya was not so sure if she could 100% trust them. Claud and Zak stressed that it would be best if she vote with them and get out D.C. as he proved to be unhelpful in challenge today. Kenya said that she'd feel more comfortable if they had one more vote, so Claud and Zak promised that they'd at least get Danielle's vote with them.
Danielle, Claud and Zak quickly gathered and Danielle was told to vote off D.C., but Danielle seemed hesitant to their decision. Zak stressed that D.C. was the reason why they lost this challenge and he should be blamed for the loss, but Danielle brought up the point that it wouldn't matter after the merge as D.C. really had nobody on the other side to really work with. Danielle brought up the possibility of voting off Kenya and Claud and Zak seemed to be persuaded a bit.
D.C. and Rhys managed to grab Kenya to talk right before tribal and they told Kenya to vote for Claud. They insisted that they had enough votes to get rid of Claud, but Kenya got really confused about the vote as everyone was saying something different. Rhys told Kenya that she should save her idol for this vote and use it for the future as he was sure she would be safe this round.
Claud: (To camera) I feel like this would the craziest vote ever. I can honestly say that I wouldn't even be surprised if I ended up being voted off tonight. I have not had such a confusing day for a really long time.

Charlie: How important is tonight's vote, D.C.?
D.C.: I think we all know that this will be the last vote before we merge, based on the message we got from the challenge.
Charlie: Would that change the way people vote tonight?
D.C.: Oh absolutely. Everyone will think about how tonight's vote could benefit them in the long run, especially since everyone would have a friend at the other tribe after we merge.
Charlie: So how do you feel about that, Rhys?
Rhys: I'm a little bit unsure about what would happen tonight. Will the original tribe members still work together after the merge? Or will everybody scatter and form new alliances? These are the things we all have to think about.
Charlie: Wise words. Claud, how do you think tonight's votes would go?
Claud: I can honestly say this is the one time that I have no idea what's going on with the votes tonight. And that scares the crap out of me.
Charlie: Zak, do you feel the same way?
Zak: I feel the exact same way. But all I can say is, I'll vote the way that I feel is best for my game, and the best for my allies.
Charlie: Bold statement. Well, with that, it's time to vote. Zak, you're up first...

If anybody has a hidden immunity idol and wants to play it, now it would be the time to do so. *Everyone looked at Kenya. Kenya played around with her necklace and she stood up.*
Kenya: I thought it over and over again about what to do with this. I thought about just throwing it into the fire to prove my loyalty. But that just seems stupid to me. So better safe than sorry, I'm using my idol on myself.
*Danielle frowned and Rhys seemed to start panicking.*
Charlie:
The rules of Survivor state that if anybody plays the hidden immunity idol then any votes cast against that person will not count. This is in fact the hidden immunity idol. Any votes cast on Kenya will not count. I'll read the votes.
First vote, Kenya. Does not count. *Kenya mouthed I knew it.*
Second vote, Kenya. Does not count.
Third vote, Kenya. Does not count. *Kenya sighed in relief.*

Charlie: D.C., the tribe has spoken. (Torch Snuffed) Time for you to go to Ponderosa.
D.C.: Congratulations on the merge, you guys! Have fun!
Charlie: Well, he just stole my line. You will all officially merge tomorrow with the other tribe. The game will surely get a lot more interesting from this point forward. Now that there are only 10 of you left in this game, alliances cannot be more important. Bring your torch, head back to your camp, I'll see you tomorrow.
