What.a.great.weekend and I met.......

Jun 23, 2014 by countrygirl15701
I just spend the weekend in Erie, PA.  Not only did I go up there to relax and get away for the weekend, but I also went up there to participate in the Biggest Loser 5k RunWalk race.  It was truly an unforgettable, inspirational and motivating experience.  I've done a few 5k's, but this one has to be my favorite.  Just seeing people of different fitness levels doing this race, was inspiring.  Then add in the past Biggest Loser contestants that were there, along with supporters along the route cheering for everyone as they went through.  I'm not going to lie, this was a challenging course and there were a couple times I just wanted to stop.  But then I heard the cheers from people as I went passed them and that just encouraged me to keep on going.  Then when I was getting close to the finish line, my ex was there to encourage me that I was almost there.  Crossing that finish line was just amazing!  I met some AMAZING people as well.  I met Dan and Jackie Evans from season 5 of the Biggest Loser (I met Ali Vincent a few years ago when she was in Hershey).  I also met Chelsea Arthurs and David Brown from Season 15.  I will say this:  Dan, Jackie, Chelsea and David are so down to earth and were so easy to talk to.  I was able to hear a speech that David did and while he was talking, I was like, "that's me".  I'm a girl who has started/stopped, just to start over.  Something that no one on here knows is that I've had a battle with my weight all my life, now I'm going to continue fighting and working hard to get my life back.

I ended up finishing my 5k 17th in my age group with a time of 1:10:32.7.  Yes, it's my slowest race by far, but I'm happy to just have finished it.
