it went from the possibilities and science surrounding  time travel to if it was invented what we would change in our past (realised no matter how many regrets we have, we wouldnt change anything because we wouldnt be the same people) to what we expect to see in our future to what wed want to see in our future, to what we would like to feel on our deathbed, to how wed feel if we died tomorrow, to all the problems we have today and how they dont matter because we can get through them and life is hard but we have lived so many happy memories and not even big things, just simple things like sat in mcdonalds about a week before christmas and i was putting chips on my big mac and peter said "dave, why do you always put christmas on your burger" and although that probably wouldnt mean anything to anyone, it is one of the best memories for both of us, yet so simple and there is a lot of little things like that, that if we died tomorrow and watch our life flash before out eyes and smile at. we havent lived the most exciting life but its been happy and yes right now, times are tough, but im not going to worry about that too much because itll be something that i can learn from and in the end it will probably be the best thing thats ever happened to me if the right decision is made tomorrow. i love conversations like that because it really makes you appreciate what you have and all the shit youve gone through to get it and youre still going through. it might not be much but if you can have a good think about your life, smile at certain moments, no matter how many bad things are there, if you can look through all that and still have a little smile on your face at the end, you know youve lived a good life so far and that will carry on. obviously youre not going to do everything youve ever wanted or get everything youve ever wanted but why would you want to? even at the end of my life i would rather wonder "what if i would have done this.... what if i would have bought that.... what if i would have gone out that night instead of staying in (or vice versa)" them questions would be so much better than laying there thinking "i done that, i got that, etc." because i dont want an easy, perfect life, i want a happy one and i can safely say right now, im doing it right.
