Why does the first evicted get 20th? It should start from 11th since after the 11th (who should be indeed 2nd) placed person is gone, everyone else gets 1st? I don't see the logic.

Because the other team gets placements too. And it would be stupid to start from 10 when there are 20 people.

Because there's 20 people, so you get 20th place.  The final ten all tie for first place.
