So, we're suddenly missing the "recent comments" section that used to appear on any page with the url tengaged.com/blog/(username). Like http://www.tengaged.com/blog/zimdelinvasor or whatever.
There used to be a box in the bottom left section of the page that showed the most recent 10 or so comments people posted in blogs by that user. It was super useful, and since blogging is the only thing I've come on here for months, I used it multiple times every day. Every time I went on Tengaged, that was the first thing I checked, even before my trends and mail. It was an INCREDIBLY useful feature to let people know when others had commented on their blogs, and even though it was sort of hidden, it was honestly the most useful thing on the entire site if you were the kind of person who it benefited. It was my favorite feature on here, not even exaggerating, because with all the blogs I post it saved me a ton of time/effort.
At first I thought my browser was just glitching or whatever, but after asking other people, it looks like this is definitively gone.
Randomize, can you please bring this back? It's not like it took up any space or was visible to people who didn't use it, so it didn't disrupt anything. All that's there now is blank space. There is LITERALLY no reason get rid of it. No reason whatsoever. It was a fantastic layout feature that made checking feedback and comments much, much, much more useful for people like me who spend a majority of their time on Tengaged blogging.
This isn't even changing over to a less convenient format; it's flat-out removing a component of the layout that was incredibly useful for some users, in favor of blank space that contributes absolutely nothing to anyone. There's no reason to get rid of a portion of the layout like that. I know a lot of people didn't use it or weren't even aware it existed, but that just goes to show that it was never a bad idea. It was great to people who used it - invisible to people who didn't.
So rando, can you please, please add this back? I don't understand what the purpose is in randomly wiping a very, very useful feature in favor of blank space. :|
rellizuraddixion This would take literally less than a minute and a half to read
superkevin79 Right? :| It's not like it was hugely plastered all over the blogs page, so I get that many people didn't use it, but that means it was... totally harmless. Nobody ever complained about it because it was the easiest thing on the entire website to ignore if you didn't use it.
KittyTheEmolga Exactly. I blog all the time and it's so much more convenient to be able to go to that page - or any page - and just see, oh hey, here's who commented on it. It's super, super helpful and I always loved it and thought it was the most underrated feature on here
bigupboy See, that's why it's great.. it's so hidden that there's no way anyone ever thought "Wow, I sure am upset there's a small box in the corner of an obscure page." But when you do find it, it's ridiculously useful. I checked it every single day because the ONLY reason I'm still on this website is to blog and see what people comment on those blogs.
BlueStar +'d yours and added a link. Hopefully he can see that this isn't just something one person misses. A lot of people used it, and the ones who didn't never even noticed it.
Are you talking about the "Latest Actions" thing? Bc you can still see where people have commented on other peoples blogs from there O_o, If not I have no idea what your talking about :S
RachelReilly1 No - Latest Actions shows when, say, I've commented on other people's blogs (or placed bets, or joined games). The feature I'm talking about would be on the page /blog/zimdelinvasor and it was in the bottom left corner. It said "Recent Comments" or something like that, and below that it would just show the ten or so most recent comments people had posted on the blog you were looking at. It would say "(user) on "[blog title]" x min ago) and it was great if you were someone who blogged a lot. I used it every day.
Foxox Thank you! Piddu You didn't know of it because it was so out of the way that it couldn't possibly have bothered anyone. I have no idea why it was removed. Survivor233 I think he said he was gonna work on that. Not sure.
just commenting to say that I DID know that this feature existed and used it as well and would really miss the feature
So unless rando was looking to incorporate a new type of notification thing for blogs and just hadn't made us aware, I'd love to have this feature back.
Thanks :)
