Do I need to ban myself for 2 hours for accidentally banning the wrong person for 2 hours? Do I hit the button?! Do I perm myself? I can’t handle the guilt.
What up! This has been in the works for a few weeks now, just had to wait on randomize to finally check his pm’s haha.
I’ve been here since I was a child opening Santa gifts, so I’ve seen it all really. Hence, I understand the TOS, the means of cheating, how to plan special games, and in the more serious cases, how to interpret allegations/charges of abuse/harrassment. Also, importantly, I am fluent in Spanish and can take on reports in a native language setting for our Hispanic community. I’m also a relatively active figure you can reach out to for any information.
If you’ve been around for a while, you’d know that I’ve been in the running to be a moderator for about 6 years now. So this has been a long time coming, really. I’ve worked closely with this moderation for a couple years now, so it’s sort of a predictable choice. Just like in games, in a “workplace” you have to choose a team you know you can trust.
I think ultimately the 5 of us will make an excellent team with open and productive discourse. I’m generally known as a levelheaded, unbiased voice, so I’m glad to provide my services to the team, to the site, and take on the responsibility for free because I love this place!

I don’t like to jump to conclusions; I’d rather gather adequate information before I make a swooping judgement.
Here’s my opinion. Jamie cleared things up; Faygo didn’t groom her or make her feel uncomfortable. So to a certain degree, some people should apologize for the drastic nature of their comments about him, calling him a pedophiiliac groomer and such.
HOWEVER, many of us, including myself, would lose our fucking jobs over shit like that. This year with my promotion/job change, I will be teaching students who are Jamie’s age at the time. I’ve yet to even reach 25, and I still can’t fathom talking to a minor in any way that would make me even perceivably culpable of grooming. The details we do have are objectively odd and imo immoral. There are lines that we must draw as adults not only to protect the minor, but also ourselves. Ultimately, faygo put himself in this position. There are things you simply don’t do and you don’t say because of the image it would give you despite your intentions. It was irresponsable as hell.
I get that times change and people are more vigilant of these things nowadays. But no matter what, I can’t stomach the situation personally just from my perspective. What’s in the past is in the past, luckily it wasn’t what it seemed; I’m sure he’s grown up and understands the errors of his transgressions, but this is hella serious territory he dipped his toes into and the concern was warranted.
Or shaming of just about any sort, for that matter (obviously being a disgusting menace to society brings with it necessary shame)
But if you’re mainly known for being an asshole and shaming others for things equally out of their control (for instance, calling me a hick closet case cuz I’m from the south and on Tengaged), you totally get what you have coming to you and I don’t feel bad for you in the slightest.
If you’re a genuinely nice person, I will defend you. But if you are getting dished what you dish out, ima stand back, watch, and laugh. That’s just the price of being an asshole. Pay the toll, troll.
About 10% of Stars there’s one guaranteed, no doubt winner from day 1. There’s probably 10% of players who when they play, they’re guaranteed to win or at least make finals.
10-15% of players can’t win no matter what because they’re just that hated.
The other 80% of players can use a mix of strategy and creation of a narrative to win provided there’s not a guaranteed winner from day 1 (again, 1/10 games)
The importance of narratives and strategies varies week by week. To me that is just a part of the brilliance of the game.
Whatever, just have fun while you play. Sometimes you might surprise yourself with the support you can gain by the way you play and/or the way you interact with the public.
Strategy does matter in stars… but that strategy isn’t limited to playing with the 15 other players in the game, nor is it limited to that 1 week you’re actually in the game. Stars is a PR strategy game and you must treat it as such if you hope to eventually win.
At the end of the day, you should always at least play for finals because even if you don’t win, racking up finals just looks impressive.
