As the quote suggests, this boot really was a magnificent play by Cirie that set her up to undoubtedly win the game if not for Terry Deitz and his stupid tie-forcing bullshit.
If you haven't seen it, Panama is an amazing season - the cast is full of lulzy yet lovable nutcases and the Casaya tribe is the epitome of "nuts". Despite being a clusterfuck they handed La Mina's asses to them in about 2/3rd of the tribal challenges (La Mina was made up of a bunch of nobodies and Dan Barry) and then thoroughly decimated the La Mina tribe post-merge as well.
When the final 6 rolled around, however, is when things started to get ugly. Terry won immunity, forcing the Casaya 5 to turn on each other. Aras seemed like a logical boot - Terry was targeting him and he was well-liked by the entire jury and was good at challenges. But Shane had a different idea. He rallied Cirie, Courtney and Aras to vote Danielle instead, believing it would put him in a better spot to take Courtney to the end.
Cirie, however, was on to both Terry AND Shane, and knew that THEY knew that nobody liked Courtney and was easily beatable in the end. So with Terry and Courtney voting Aras and Shane voting Danielle, Cirie easily convinced Danielle and Aras to vote Courtney to save their own asses. At tribal council half of the Gitanos tribe was blindsided as Courtney was sent home in an epic 3-2-1 vote.
This vote is so epic because it cemented Cirie's status as a masterful social and strategic player. She screwed up Terry's endgame, Shane's endgame, and cemented Aras's loyalty as a Final 2 confidant. This play came together and was executed without a hitch, and was truly a masterful work of Survivor strategy 101.
