Connecticut is safe from hate law. for now Nov 5, 2008
Question 1 in CT, which would have opened the doors to gay marriage ban amendments, has been voted no, and should be safe for 20 years. yay!
on the down side:
Prop 8 was a yes and gay marriage has been banned, as well as in Florida, and in Arkansas has banned the adoption of children by same sex couples.

The US getting together, after all the hatred seen against Obama and the thought of a not white person as president, and voting for this man who seems best for our country, is amazing. We're all feeling optimistic about our future for the first time in a long while.  I feel acknowledged for my vote for the first time since i turned 18. it's amazing.

But we do have a long way to go, and I fear that this next step will divide us further than before, on even crazier lines than the last office.  But this is a very strong step in a good direction, and despite the fits of panic i feel in the wake of the election process, we're on the way to a great point where we will be able to talk intelligently to each other with respect despite race/gender/sexuality/faith/etc
But the fights along the journey are terrifying to me.

For those of you who post about needing cash Nov 3, 2008
1) Look on your profile
2) look at the T$ section; "Need some urgent T"
3) Do one of the offers.

This helps because:
a)Instant t$
b)You're helping tengaged stay financially afloat
c)You're not writing a panhandling post

Reminder to those in Connecticut Nov 2, 2008
I don't know who here other than me lives in CT, but on Tuesday, other than voting for president and representative, there will be Question 1:
(paraphrasing) Do you wish to allow change to the constitution?

Please vote NO on this question.  While those in favor of Question 1 say the changes will be to help special interests, but the primary special interest is the Family Institute of Connecticut.

With the recent statement from the State Supreme court about how banning gay marriage would be unconstitutional, it's all but stated that one of their main goals would be to try to make gay marriage illegal.

We don't need our rights threatened, and we don't need a yes on question 1.

Please vote on Tuesday.

Ask My Ego Nov 1, 2008
I stole this from
http://www.tengaged.com/blog/EliseRiggs/7958/qa-eliseriggs-100-truth
So visit her blog and see what she's doing, and if you have a question for her, go for it!

I'm not mocking either.  I don't think I've revealed a lot about myself on this site, so if you guys have anything you want to ask me, go right ahead :)
I'll answer them in a separate post just to make everything more readable for me.  And yes, i'm sort of indulging on the same self appointed crap i was against in my other post, but it's not really affecting anyone, so i think it's ok
Hope to have a great conversation with you guys!
