That's kinda cool that there will be betting going on here soon, and here are a few random thoughts i've had here.
* Would this result accidentally into some weird sort of Tengaged fantasy league thing? I think the basic idea behind this is like when friends will do the reality show pool, but since these are a bunch of people who don't know each other, or the groups of friends that have developed here, i wonder how that will play out.
* Who people tend to bet on will have an effect on how they play, which will add interesting complications to how they play. potentially people will be paying more attention to how the rookies play, and when they get into the games with the people they bet on, they'll know how that person plays, and work against that. something like that, which adds to an interesting complexity.
*On the other side, this would also show fan favorite characters, or something like that. Maybe that's just inflating ego since i'm like #2, but certain players are going to get a lot of bets around them, and it would be fun to see how that works.
* now to mix those two together, would the people in the game know how many people bet on them? that would introduce a very weird element into the game, people would nominate others just to screw those people betting over.
*since there are like 2 or 3 rookie games around right now, it's going to be weird in how there aren't that many players altogether.
It sounds like it will be a cool feature that will either change the gameplay in players in a new way, or just something to do while waiting for your game to start. either way it would be fun, though i would like to see new types of games coming out at some point.
