We are now officially halfway through this list. Not every decision has been popular and we've seen some horrible and some popular seasons fall but I think most of the seasons still left are what people feel are the better ones. This next season had a historical twist in the pre-merge. The season is:
AFRICA!
Now, my original thoughts of Africa were not positive because I couldn't find anything too memorable. Then I rewatched half of this season recently. Man did my whole opinion of this season change. I began to realize this season was underrated. First of all, this has to be the most unique location in survivor history. I loved them going into the wilderness of Africa and facing a lot of things you wouldn't in a regular season such as lions, elephants and other dangerous animals. Lex literally had to stop walking because he saw a lion. The swap was also one of the best twists in survivor history. It was 6-6 going into it and honestly, both tribes were a little predictable in the beginning. This caused a complete shake-up to the game that the season really needed. It caused Silas to be in a more vulnerable thus more interesting position, Frank and Teresa to have new life and a new divided tribe for Samburu. Then the beginning of the merge was very interesting with Clarence and Teresa battling for immunity. Teresa does a great job convincing Clarence to step down and the tribe goes on to vote him out for being a physical threat. The next episode gets very interesting with Teresa trying to make a move to get the numbers on Boran. In a crazy episode, especially for this era, she gets Kelly to flip because she's annoyed with Lex BUT Brandon flips because he can't take the bitchy young girls anymore. We also had the Boran alpha male alliance have to pick off each other in the end and Big Tom's entertainment. The main thing I noticed in this season was that I think we had the most people in early era seasons that were actually playing the game. This season made production realize they had to change the number of votes tiebreaker because the cast was catching onto it. I liked that we were finally seeing a deep amount of players getting smart about the game. Plus the emotional vote-offs such as Carl losing the tiebreaker challenge for the old Samburu, Brandon unintentionally telling Boran Lindsey had a vote, etc.
The negative for Africa is that the second half of the game was unentertaining because of Brandon's move. He clinched majority for Boran and let that alliance cruise to the final 4. It would've been nice to see the 4 Samburu that went into the merge in the minority take down the mighty Boran. Also as I said in the above paragraph, the players caught up to production this season which meant we saw a lot of tie votes. This is a negative because it meant nobody had to flip as long as they knew who had votes. There also wasn't really a single thing that clearly stood out in this season in the post-merge.
Underrated season overall but still not good enough to stand out among the elite.
Stay tuned for #13! Hint- a season most find surprising is still on the board

You can't be serious. Samoa was way too overedited for RussHole and Shambo that it was not fun to watch. Philippines was okay but compared to the rest it should not be still there.
