The reason it's been on-and-off issince the games market so badly, EA has decided multiple occasions to just not release a year's given NBA Live match - in hopesthat another year of dev time will make them aggressive.They have been doing this dance for an entire console generation, and ithas not done much. Even though NBA Live is mainly fine as a basketball match, and $20 cheaper at retail - 2K is still basicallyrunning unopposed as the biggest basketball game around.
The same thing happens between FIFA and Pro Evo - Konami provides a lessexploitative football sport, but audiences go with the brand that they know.Having additional competition over the NFL licensemight shake things up - but history has not really suggested that Madden will suddenly become amazing when new players enter themarketplace. That said, I expect the NFL believes ending exclusivity.

EA got back to basketball games a few years ago and rather than becoming betterI would say NBA 2k got even worse then it was with regards to quality.NBA Live was a garbage heap of a match though. 2K did notfeel very threatened by their entrance, of course.It's also the Exact Same situation with FIFA & Professional Evo. Konami'sfootball game has lots of fans, but that victory hasn't made FIFA any less exploitative.
