I dont play HotS but I do play with different MOBAs. Its significant since it's possible to play as Hogger at HotS and he probably has some unique abilities that people vanilla wow players may find cool.
HotS takes characters from every Blizzard game (the Lost Vikings are even playable) and throws them into a MOBA. Fundamentally LoL, but using a Blizzard theme.
Ahh very trendy. I never got into MOBAs but that sounds very cool. Kinda sounds like a Super Smash Bros-like mix within an MOBA.
Yeah, that's the idea. It feels like that they draw from Warcraft, imo, but there are heroes from all. Even if some original ones just for hots.
