Kohatapu arrived back at camp from Tribal that night. There was a sense of relief among members of the majority, with a sense of confusion and despair from Tony, Trish and Keith.
Tony almost immediately cornered Keith, having re-asked him about whether he may had confused the makeup of the majority vote, with Keith remaining adamant that Jeremy had told him "4 votes Tony". "Somebody must have switched their vote, or he simply lied to me", Keith remarked. Tony expressed his frustrations further about this having left them idol-less and in an even more precarious position than before.
Meanwhile, the remainder of the tribe were seated by the shelter. "I'm not used to getting votes", Natalie publicly announced, with members of the majority alliance chatting it up in the shelter. They began to discuss the 4 votes against Sarah, with Vytas having admitted to his tribe that it was his vote. Trish sat with them, however not paying attention as she was eying Kass.
"It was absolutely grating to have to watch Kass sit by Natalie with that stupid grin on her face that she always does, puckering up to Natalie, and Jeremy and Brad and all them, and honestly, if I took to heart everything Kass did, I'd be dead", Trish expressed the next morning.
The camera shot changed to that of Kass, who then in a confessional explained her reasoning for having flipped. "I apologize for wanting to be on the right side of the numbers?", she questioned sarcastically, later stating that if it wasn't for her flip, the majority alliance wouldn't have split the vote to begin with and still would have maintained a 6-5 numbers advantage. "I'm not the one to go down on a sinking ship, unlike other people", as the camera panned over to Trish. "I'm willing to do anything to better my position, and I will keep doing what I deem necessary."
The next morning, Vytas woke early to do yoga by the beach, having explained his rationale for having flipped his vote against Sarah. "In the long run, it was a move to save Tony, and I hope to use that to my benefit since I know Tony is a capable player", he remarked. "But it also turns out that I saved the day for the alliance so, I do pride myself with that", he added with a grin on his face.
Tony joined Vytas by the beach where they began to chat about the vote. Vytas almost immediately told Tony that despite their past, he was being genuine during the time he asked Tony for an alliance after the swap, as his vote flip for Sarah would have been the vote that saved him in the event he (Tony) didn't have an idol. Tony immediately displayed his surprise at Vytas' vote flip, having then thanked him for it.
"I'm shocked!", Tony cried out in a confessional. "That little know-it-all flushed my idol, unintentionally!". Tony proceeded to thank Vytas again, as they made their way back to the shelter. "That guy is a lot smarter than I think people give him credit for", Tony then remarked. "I mean, I'm impressed."
Meanwhile, as the tribe began waking up, Brad stood by the fire along with Natalie and Jeremy, proclaiming that they should dedicate the day to "thanking Vytas", for having "saved the alliance". Natalie laughed, while having given Jeremy the look of, "Is this really happening?". Hayden joked that he and Jeremy would go out and collect the freshest, ripest bananas for Vytas to enjoy that day. Jeremy rolled his eyes.
"Honestly, this whole Kumbaya celebratory moment that Brad has dedicated to Vytas is absolutely ridiculous", Jeremy remarked in a confessional. "And honestly, it worries me. Because if Brad is more pro-Vytas than he is pro-Jeremy, at the end of the day he's going to pick Vytas". Jeremy then recited that excluding Kass, their alliance of six entailed a 3-3 split between BvW/SJDS, and that the closeness between Brad/Vytas/Hayden scared him.
Meanwhile, Jaclyn met with Natalie to discuss the positioning of Kass within their alliance. Jaclyn informed the cameras that her and Kass had been close early on, and that now with the inclusion of her (Kass) within their alliance, it provided the ideal opportunity for her and Natalie to both further solidify any deals with Kass. "At the end of the day, we want Kass to stick with the girls. And we all know how much Kass likes it when you bring up the notion of female empowerment, or any form of 'girl-power'", Jaclyn concluded.
The girls met with Kass, having discussed the flip and ultimately, their alliance of 7. "The next 3 votes are easy but after that, it's going to be an all-out clash of the titans", Natalie remarked, with Kass and Jaclyn both agreeing. Kass then privately stated that she "appreciated the offer", but that she wasn't going to make any promises to herself as to what she would do. "Things change in a heartbeat", she maintained.
Also that morning, Jeremy confronted Brad about the longevity of the game. Jeremy discussed the exclusion of Hayden and Jaclyn from their core Otuhaka 4 person alliance, and whether the inclusion of Hayden in the six diverted his attention away from the 4. "No way, man. Me, you, Vytas and Natalie are going to the final 4", he maintained. Jeremy proceeded to mention his worry about Vytas, claiming that Vytas was a "smart player", and that he (Jeremy) wasn't fully convinced that Vytas wouldn't attempt an exploration of options.
"I don't know why Jeremy is so darn paranoid all of a sudden", Brad remarked. "Did I do something wrong?", he questioned. Meanwhile, Jeremy privately stated that his mission was to drive a wedge between Brad and Vytas. "The fire has already been ignited", Jeremy said, referring to Brad having doubted Vytas' loyalty in the past, "All I have to do is make the flame grow". However, Jeremy concluded that now was not the right time.
In the next scene, Natalie and Jaclyn arrived back from tree-mail, announcing that they had a reward challenge coming up. The tribe set out to their reward challenge and to be greeted by Jeff.
At the reward challenge, Jeff announced that they would be divided into two teams of five. After a schoolyard pick, the red team consisted of JACLYN, JEREMY, KEITH, NATALIE, and TRISH. The yellow team consisted of BRAD, HAYDEN, KASS, TONY, and VYTAS. Despite having an advantage in strength, the yellow team lost out to the red team, who would enjoy dinner that afternoon in a Tongan village. The red team went on their reward as the yellow team went back to camp.
Back at Kohatapu, Tony almost immediately went out to the jungle. Brad, Hayden, Kass and Vytas watched from the shelter. "He's going for that idol", Kass replied, with Brad and Hayden having agreed to go follow him.
When Tony suspected he was being followed, he began to run through the jungle. "Hayden, I think we're losing him", Brad remarked, as the two of them attempted to keep up with Tony. Tony told the cameras that his only chance at survival was finding the idol. "If I found it before without a clue, I can do it again", he maintained.
Unfortunately for Brad and Hayden, Tony was too swift for them. "It's going to be a manhunt for that stupid thing", Brad replied, with the two of them also having agreed to look for the idol.
Meanwhile, Jaclyn, Jeremy, Keith, Natalie and Trish arrived at their reward. They were greeted by Tongan villagers and got the opportunity to watch Tongan performances and rituals as they ate. They all agreed that the reward was a once in a lifetime experience. After they finished eating, they each received a wrapped box from a Tongan villager woman. "Wow, we're receiving gifts!", Trish called out, as they each opened their box, 4 of whom contained nothing with the exception of Keith's box which contained a slip of paper, an idol clue.
"This is my second clue!", Keith cried out in a confessional. "I'm really gettin' lucky with them, and I wanted to keep it to myself but Nat and Jeremy were eyin' me like HAWKS, so I decided to read it aloud to the group". After Keith shared the clue with the group, they were eager to get back to camp. "I believe that camp is going to be a crazy search for idols tomorrow morning", Jaclyn remarked.
It was night time when they arrived back at camp. They were greeted by Brad and Hayden, whom Jeremy told that Keith "had a clue to the Idol". Keith decided not to speak to anyone and wake early that morning to go searching for the idol, with most people not having bothered to go out that night as it was dark.
The next morning, the idol search ensued. Keith shared his clues with Tony, who ran out to the lake. Brad and Vytas were watching by the fire, having agreed to go follow him.
"Everyone is concerned about the idol", Vytas said, "and we need to keep it out of Tony's hands." Brad spotted Tony looking by the lake, so he strolled down to the other side of the lake by a rock wall, where he began lifting rocks. Vytas kept a look out, as other tribe members searched in other locations. Vytas heard a gasp, and turned around toward Brad holding what appeared to be a wrapped idol. They quickly scurried back toward the jungle so Tony wouldn't see them.
"This is the second idol I found all by myself!", Brad cried out. Vytas congratulated him on his find, having wondered whether he was going to tell anyone. Brad decided it was better not to, so Brad headed back toward camp without Vytas to avoid suspicion, as Vytas buried the idol next to a recognizable tree.
Natalie and Trish were by the shelter, with Natalie having asked Brad whether he found it. He told her that he hadn't, so Natalie went out to join Vytas in search for the idol.
Trish decided to spark up conversation with Brad, knowing her place in the game. "I have nothing left to lose", Trish told herself, "so I might as well give anything a shot". Trish asked Brad his thoughts of Kass, with Brad having replied that he would be a fool to trust her, even after her flip. Trish shared his thought, having wondered how people could be foolish enough to trust Kass to stick with them. "She's more of a liability than anything, and she prides herself in being unpredictable. What kind of an ally is that?", Trish wondered.
"I know what kind of a player Kass is, and it would be logical to get rid of her next. Our alliance will have the numbers any ways, and Vytas and I have the idol, so we should be good. This is definitely food for thought", Brad privately remarked. Brad told Trish he would see how the challenge went before agreeing to anything.
The camera shot then changed to that of the tribe having arrived at their immunity challenge. Brad gave up immunity, with Jeff announcing that immunity was back up for grabs. Everyone felt the need to earn safety, so a competition of skill began
That of JACLYN winning Immunity. Jaclyn cheered, with her allies having congratulated her.
"Jaclyn, guaranteed a one in nine shot at winning this game", Jeff remarked as he put the idol around her neck, sending the tribe back to camp.
Back at Kohatapu, scrambling for the vote almost immediately began.
Tony, Trish and Keith sat by the fire, professing their despair. Tony admitted his frustrations for not having found the idol, with Keith remaining surprised that they still couldn't find it with two clues. However, Trish remained optimistic. "The 7 of them are probably going to try and split the vote again, but think about who they would be most willing to vote against... Kass. All we need to do is convince a few of them to switch their votes against Kass", she told them. They agreed it would be a long shot, but that they would make an attempt.
Meanwhile, the majority alliance of seven privately met to discuss the vote. They agreed that the best option would be splitting the vote between Tony and Keith, with the plan being to send Tony home. "Guys vote for Tony, girls vote for Keith", Jeremy remarked. However, Vytas brought up a defense for Tony, stating that he thought it would be smarter to get rid of Keith. He received mostly mixed responses, with Brad and Hayden having both agreed that they would be fine with Keith going home.
Jeremy appeared dumbfounded. "What are these guys doing?", he privately questioned with irritation in his voice. "Tony has to go, there is no way around it!". Natalie broke up the slight disagreement, stating that they had time to discuss how they would split the vote.
Later that afternoon, Tony and Trish met with Brad and Hayden about the possibility of voting for Kass. Brad and Hayden agreed to vote for Kass, but privately discussed it afterwards, with Hayden having highly considered it due to the "Kass lie" which caused him to lose major trust in her. However, Brad was on the fence as they saw Kass begin to approach them.
"I saw Tony and Trish speaking with Brad and Hayden so I immediately thought to break it up", Kass said. Kass joined Brad and Hayden, where Hayden was upfront about Tony and Trish campaigning against her. Kass wasn't surprised, but began to defend herself stating that it would be a dumb move to get rid of her. "Just think about it, I'm the vote you need to split up pairs, such as Nat and Jeremy", she said, as the camera panned over to Natalie and Jeremy strategizing.
"Do I think Kass is a dangerous player? Absolutely. Does that warrant voting her out? Not yet. If I think I have Kass on my side, I'll be glad to use her vote later on", Hayden remarked.
Trish and Tony went on a walk after their group conversation.
"I'm not buying it for a second that they're voting Kass", Trish made clear.
"They're going to split the vote between Keith and I", Tony replied. Trish had asked him whether they should just throw their votes toward Kass, with Tony having expressed their capability of voting for Keith. "Keith?", Trish questioned. "Hey, that's all we have left", Tony replied.
Tony expressed that he would "feel bad" voting for Keith, but that he wanted to stay in the game, and he was hoping that by her and Trish voting for Keith, that he would somehow be able to go home. "It's time to play dirty", Tony expressed.
Meanwhile, Natalie, Jaclyn and Jeremy met by the beach before Tribal.
"They're going to vote for Keith", Jeremy said, referring to the votes of Hayden, Brad and Vytas.
"Will you stop being so paranoid?", Jaclyn asked.
"If I were you two, I would vote for Tony to be safe", Jeremy told the girls. Jaclyn looked at Natalie.
In her next confessional, Natalie vocalized that "these boys were so [f*cking] annoying", as Natalie and Jaclyn continued to listen to Jeremy rag on. "Why is it that Jaclyn and I are the only sane ones around here? Like just shut the f*ck up and split the vote!", Natalie wailed out in a confessional.
Vytas met with Brad right before Tribal Council about the possibility of voting for Keith, as Tony looked on. "Honestly, I'm going to do whatever I want", Vytas privately explained. "If I want to vote for Keith, I'll vote him out". Tony approached Vytas with one final plea, as Vytas mouthed Keith's name.
"Tonight, I'm voting for Keith", Tony said. "I have nothing to lose". The camera panned back over to Vytas who shook his head and looked toward the beach where Jeremy was talking with Natalie and Jaclyn. "Everyone wants different things and well, you can't always please everyone", Vytas said as the tribe headed out to Tribal.
The tribe arrived to Tribal Council, with Ciera and Sarah having entered to be seated on the Jury. Jeff asked Tony whether there was a clear division in the tribe, with Tony having been receptive to Jeff's thought stating that it was an alliance of seven against him, Trish and Keith. Jeff asked Kass whether she had flipped on purpose or whether she was already comfortably situated within the majority. Kass replied that she did in fact flip, but it was because she didn't want to go down on a "sinking ship". Trish rolled her eyes and kept her mouth shut.
Jeff asked Natalie as part of the majority, how she would approach the vote. Natalie stated that despite there being conflicting needs within their alliance, they unanimously agreed that splitting the vote was a smart decision. Tony looked over at Trish and winked. Jeff asked Tony how he combats a split vote, with Tony having answered that there was nothing he could do as he no longer had a bag of tricks.
"It's just a bag filled with my personal possessions now, no more tricks!", he remarked as Jaclyn looked at Natalie nervously. Jeff announced that it was time to vote, and the tribe voted.
Ninth person voted out of Survivor All-Stars, and the third member of our Jury,
Tony. That's 5 and that's enough, you need to bring me your torch.
Tony smiled and nodded. Trish looked slightly disappointed. Kass turned her head in slight confusion. Natalie and Vytas looked at each other and smirked.
Jeff snuffed Tony's torch for the first time and sent him off.
Jeff told the tribe that there seemed to be a majority decision to vote Tony off but that some people would need to reconsider their positions in the game.
[NOTE: The boys decided to stick with the plan of voting for Tony, while Natalie and Jaclyn flipped their votes toward Tony after his comments at Tribal. Kass voted for Keith as originally planned.]
Next time on SURVIVOR.
Kass accentuates her position as that of a "free agent", while Trish does anything to survive. "I will burn this camp down before I go!".
