BRIEF SUMMARY OF LAST EPISODE: At the reward, Kass made an attempt to convince Brad and Hayden to make a move against Natalie. Back at camp, Brad and Hayden consulted with Vytas about voting Natalie out, with Vytas having refuted the plan. Jeremy then convinced Brad that Vytas wanted Brad out, which was the reason why Brad thought Vytas wasn't willing to vote out Natalie. Jeremy had done that in order to create a rift between Brad and Vytas so that Brad would be closer to him (Jeremy). After Vytas won immunity, Jeremy redirected the vote toward Hayden, having told Brad that Hayden was Vytas's "right-hand man". However, Brad went out of his way to follow Kass's advice and target Natalie instead, who he thought of Vytas's true right-hand ally. Hayden informed Jaclyn of the vote against Natalie, which resulted in Jaclyn having played her idol on Natalie that night, nulling the 4 votes against her from Brad, Hayden, Kass, and Trish. Hayden was then sent home with 4 votes from Natalie, Jeremy, Keith, and Jaclyn. Vytas was not privy to either plan and had voted for Keith.
EPISODE 11
"Dug His Own Grave"
The Kohatapu tribe arrived back from their latest Tribal Council, and as usual, there was questioning and slight confusion about that night's vote.
Natalie immediately expressed her surprise but subsequent delight at Jaclyn having played the idol on her. "I cannot freakin' believe that I could have been voted out tonight", she excitedly announced in a confessional, while pondering over the specifics of what had happened and who may had written her name down.
Natalie continued to privately exclaim that she was surprised to have almost been outplayed by a "bunch of cripples", while the camera panned over to a shot of Trish's emaciated body sprawled out in the shelter, "and a guy who is clinically insane", as the cameras showed a shot of Brad sitting by the fire. Jaclyn proceeded to fill Natalie in on what had happened with Hayden having approached her about voting Natalie out. Jeremy approached the girls as well and thanked Jaclyn for having saved them that night.
"Even though Hayden and I were loosely aligned, I had my loyalties set with another group of people, and that's who I opted for. Nat is my girl and I wasn't going to vote her out!", Jaclyn remarked in a confessional the next morning.
Vytas then approached Natalie and Jaclyn that night, having informed them that he had voted Keith out that night.
"I'm kind of ashamed to admit that for the first time, I genuinely had no idea what was going on at Tribal Council. I was essentially blindsided from both angles. I did not expect either Hayden or Natalie to get votes", Vytas admitted in a confessional.
Meanwhile, Brad and Jeremy talked on the edge of the jungle that night about Jaclyn's play, with Brad having shown his frustrations concerning the vote, and admitting to Jeremy he had voted for Natalie over Hayden simply because he trusted Hayden more and didn't believe Hayden to be Vytas's "right-hand man", as Jeremy had called him. Brad proceeded to put the blame on Vytas, telling Jeremy that if Vytas had never targeted him (Brad), none of this would had happened. Brad then informed Jeremy that he was planning on calling Vytas out the next day, with Jeremy immediately attempting to calm him down.
"I have so many things running through my head right now!", Jeremy privately announced. "On one hand, I'm worried that Jaclyn is gaining great momentum since her playing the idol on Nat was impressive, but I don't have time to worry about Jaclyn because I'm more worried about Brad. He cannot confront Vytas about anything or else Vytas will know I had lied to Brad."
The next morning, Kass had questioned the dynamic of last night's vote with Jaclyn having filled her in on everything that had happened. Kass blankly stared at the ocean, expressing her concerns in a confessional over her futile attempts at targeting Natalie as possibly screwing her over. The girls continued to converse, where Jaclyn informed Kass that it appeared that both Brad and Vytas were preparing on going after one another, which would in turn save them both (Jaclyn/Kass) from being voted out.
Brad had also gone on a walk with Jeremy that morning, discussing their next play. Brad informed Jeremy that he genuinely wished to confront Vytas about why he told Jeremy about wanting him (Brad) out. Jeremy continued to diffuse the situation by reminding Brad that they had the votes to get rid of Vytas without causing a scene.
"Brad, you idiot!", Jeremy cried out in a confessional. "If you tell anything to Vytas, you will go home. Believe that." Brad and Jeremy finished their conversation once they arrived back at camp with tree-mail.
The castaways arrived at their following reward challenge, where they were divided into two teams of four. The red team consisted of Brad, Jaclyn, Natalie, and Vytas. The yellow team consisted of Jeremy, Kass, Keith, and Trish. The physically stronger red team dominated and had won reward, which entailed a trip to a secluded beach where they would enjoy lunch and have an opportunity to shower.
Jeremy expressed his concerns about Brad and Vytas attending the reward together as the remainder of the tribe headed back to camp.
Back at the Kohatapu camp, as Jeremy was out in the jungle, Kass attempted to strike up conversation with Trish and Keith. Kass pointed out how the three of them were essentially the "outcasts" of the game, and that she felt as if nobody had wanted them around. Keith agreed while Trish was reluctant to listen.
"The last place I want to be is curled up next to Kass in the shelter as she goes on about us being in not so great positions", Trish remarked in her confessional. "Well maybe if you weren't deluded in the head, this wouldn't be happening", she concluded.
Kass continued to explain her point of view, bringing up the idea of the three of them making a promise to not write each others names down for at least 2 Tribal Councils. "Until the Top 6", Kass remarked. Keith was mostly in agreement as Trish looked on, hesitantly intrigued by Kass's offer.
"I have to do something in order to increase my odds", Kass privately remarked. "And there's no way I can make a full-fledged alliance with Trish at this point because it simply wouldn't work, so I offered her a 2 Tribal Council deal where we would promise to not write each others names down, since that is the only thing that will likely get through her dim-witted, illogical mind."
Trish finally spoke up, having stated her inclination toward the idea. The three of them proceeded to swear on their agreement, and break up before Jeremy returned, who was too worried about Brad and Vytas being on the reward together to notice anything peculiar.
At the reward, the girls and Vytas were all excited to eat, while Brad remained rather pensive. "Come on Brad, cheer up", Natalie cried out amidst scarfing down a chicken wing as Jaclyn shoved fries into her mouth. Brad told the three of them that he wasn't hungry to the slightest before exiting the hut they had eaten in, in order go on a walk down the beach.
"What's his problem?", Natalie asked, with Jaclyn having shrugged her shoulders, remaining more concerned with the food than Brad. Vytas continued to eat but displayed a concerned look on his face.
"I can tell that Brad has been acting different as of recently, but I haven't been able to put my finger on what may have happened", Vytas stated in a confessional, before also exiting the hut to look for Brad. Natalie and Jaclyn exchanged nervous glances, both aware of the lie Jeremy had told Brad about Vytas wanting Brad out of the game.
Vytas caught up with Brad down the beach to have only received silent treatment from Brad. Vytas remained adamant on wanting to know why Brad was acting differently, and why he hadn't been speaking to him as much. Brad remained internally conflicted before beginning to spill out his guts.
Brad informed Vytas that he caught wind of Vytas wanting him out, and that him shooting down the plan to vote for Natalie caught him off guard and solidified his fears of him (Vytas) truly wanting him out. Vytas looked on dumbfounded, asking Brad where he was getting his information from.
"What are you talking about? I never mentioned to anybody, not once that I wanted you out of the game. If anything I was telling Hayden that I wanted the three of us in the Finals", Vytas replied. Brad backtracked and immediately declared that he did not want to have this discussion, before returning to the hut.
Vytas followed him back to see Brad seated with Natalie and Jaclyn. Vytas decided to make their conversation an "open forum" in front of the girls. "Brad, I seriously have no clue what you're going on about", Vytas maintained, with Brad then having asked him whether he had told anything to Jeremy about wanting him (Brad) out of the game? Natalie looked toward Jaclyn nervously before attempting to diffuse the situation as Vytas retaliated.
"Jeremy told you that!?", Vytas cried out in surprise. "Okay boys, who gives a sh*t!?", Natalie called out. Jaclyn looked on nervously.
"This is not good", Jaclyn mentioned in a confessional. "If Brad and Vytas get wind that Jeremy was trying to push them apart, they're going to go after Jeremy and it's very likely that Natalie and I will be at the bottom."
Vytas continued to defend himself by informing Brad that whatever Jeremy had been telling him must have been a bunch of lies. Vytas proceeded to ask the girls whether they knew anything, with Natalie having shrugged, despite being fully aware of what was happening.
"I wasn't able to enjoy myself on the reward because I had to defend myself against false accusations from Jeremy", Vytas recited in a confessional, stating that the only positive ramification of the experience was having his eyes opened to the game being played around him, stating that he had some words to share with Jeremy upon return to camp.
Brad, Vytas, Jaclyn, and Natalie returned to camp the next morning, to be greeted by Trish. Natalie brought some leftover food to an overly excited Trish. Jeremy was seated in the shelter, watching Brad and Vytas slowly approach him. Vytas did not waste any time and immediately confronted Jeremy about what he had learned at the reward.
Vytas and Jeremy held a brief exchange, with Jeremy continuing to falsely claim that Vytas had approached him a couple of days ago about voting out Brad, with Vytas truthfully defending himself against Jeremy's accusations. The tribe looked on nervously as Vytas declared to the tribe that Jeremy was not to be trusted and that he would likely fabricate a lie about anyone to further his game. Brad stated in a confessional that he didn't know who to trust while Jeremy openly declared Vytas as the next target to be voted out. "Vytas just dig his own grave", Jeremy privately remarked.
The castaways then arrived at their next immunity challenge, everyone prepared to fight their hardest for a chance at safety. And in a challenge of endurance,
"Natalie, guaranteed a one-in-seven shot at a million dollars", Jeff professed. Brad then spoke up, and pulled out his hidden immunity idol from his bag only to put it around his neck. "Me too", Brad declared, with people having looked around in slight surprise. Jeff then sent them back to camp, informing them that he would see them that night.
Back at camp, the initial reaction to Brad's hidden immunity idol reveal was surprise, with Jeremy using it as an opportunity to split the vote. Jeremy informed Natalie and Jaclyn that Brad was essentially dead to them and the plan would be for them to split the vote against Brad and Vytas, along with Trish, Keith and Kass. The girls remained nervous about not being able to retrieve the votes, but agreed they would work on Kass and Trish.
"Now that Brad has told everything to Vytas, and has an IDOL, we need to split the votes. Brad is no longer of use to me. He signed his own death warrant", Jeremy remarked in his confessional.
Jeremy later approached Kass and Keith about the plan to split votes, reminding Kass that Brad and Vytas were unstable allies, and that they didn't know what to expect with Brad's idol. Kass had agreed to Jeremy's face but later stated that she was going to do whatever she wanted. However, Keith remained confident in Jeremy's plan. "I have no idea what's going on, but at least it appears that I'll be survivin' again", he remarked, agreeing with the plan to split votes.
Natalie and Jaclyn then met with Trish to discuss everything that had gone down as of recent. Trish remained mostly unforthcoming, inquiring whether they were going to turn on her down the road. Trish assured Natalie that she wouldn't vote her out, with Natalie reciprocating the offer.
Meanwhile, Kass, indulging in her "free agent" status as much as she could possibly get away with, informed Vytas of the plan to split the votes between him and Brad. Vytas was not surprised and remained confident that he was likely being voted out. "Nobody sees what Jeremy is doing, and it's beyond frustrating", he remarked. Kass was in agreement, stating that the most logical vote on their part would be to throw votes against Jeremy. Kass later stated that she wasn't sure whether she was going to vote Jeremy off but would rather do what the majority of the tribe decided upon.
Vytas proceeded to confront Brad about the news he had gotten of the tribe planning on splitting the votes between him and Vytas, with Brad having told Vytas that Jeremy simply informed him to vote for Vytas.
"If Jeremy attempting to split the vote isn't validation that everything hes told you is a lie, then I don't know what is", Vytas told him, adding that if Jeremy was confident that Brad totally distrusted Vytas, he would throw all the votes against him (Vytas), not worried that Brad would play his idol on Vytas.
Brad remained in deep thought, unsure of who to trust. "Everything is going to come out at Tribal tonight, and I'm faced with a decision", Brad ensured, as the tribe headed off to Tribal Council.
Jeff welcomed the Kohatapu tribe as the Jury entered. Tribal Council became heated rather quickly as Vytas set the mood by re-informing, or simply informing everyone of Jeremy having lied to Brad about him (Vytas) wanting Brad out of the game. Jeremy continued to defend himself while Vytas remained open about letting everyone know that Jeremy was lying.
Brad began to speak out, admitting his regret for having pointed the finger toward Vytas and distrusting him so suddenly. Jeremy began to question Brad's regret as Brad emotionally apologized to Vytas for having ever doubted him. "I give up", Jeremy declared.
Jeff proceeded to ask Brad whether him having an Idol would affect the vote, with Brad responding that it would likely result in the remainder of the tribe splitting the vote as a precaution. Jeff announced that the tribe would now vote, so they did.
Jeff: If anyone has a hidden immunity idol and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so.
Jeremy and Natalie both looked at Brad, who stood up with idol in his hand.
Brad: I know I'm in danger tonight and I've realized that everything Jeremy's told me has been a lie. I thought I could trust Jeremy but all he wanted was to split Vytas and I up. Vytas, I genuinely apologize for doubting you and erupting this fire-storm that has escalated beyond belief. And with that,
"I would like to play my idol on Vytas", Brad remarked. Vytas raised his eyebrows in shock, as the remainder of the tribe also looked on in surprise.
"Vytas doesn't deserve to go home over my actions of distrust toward him. I know that the tribe is splitting the votes tonight and planning on sending Vytas home, but I won't let that happen", Brad said.
Jeff announced that any votes cast against Vytas would not count, and he read the votes.
Eleventh person voted out of Survivor All-Stars and the fifth member of our Jury, Brad.
Brad nodded and stood. He exchanged a whisper with Vytas who looked visually stunned as Brad brought his torch up to Jeff, who had snuffed it and sent him off.
Jeff announced to the tribe that in a dwindling numbers game, trust was becoming a big factor, and people are clearly willing to do or say anything to further their games, or somebody else's for that matter. The tribe grabbed their torches and headed back to camp.
