PREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Three tribes from three different shows met up to begin their Survivor journey. At the Survivor camp, the tribe was already quick to put together their camp, with Janet starting fire and Lauren already out on an idol hunt. “I’m the most unassuming member of this tribe,” Lauren said, “so I want to get a head start looking.” Lauren wasn’t able to find it, but while searching, she spotted Zeke also looking for idols. Lauren went back to Michele, forming a bond with her and telling her about Zeke. “I saw Zeke looking for idols,” Lauren told Michele. Michele was happy that Lauren came to her. “As a previous winner,” Michele said to confessional, “I need to make sure I’m not an early target, so I want to find a close number like Lauren that I know I can have in my back pocket.” Michele approached Jeremy, knowing that the two of them should join together. “Zeke is looking for idols, and I do have Lauren as a number,” she told Jeremy. Jeremy was excited, but just wanted to be cautious not to jump into any drama too fast. At the Big Brother tribe, Alyssa, Tiffany, and Derek all celebrated the representation of season 23. “We all have to look after each other’s backs,” Tiffany said. Derek, however, was worried that Tiffany would once again pull the wool over his eyes like she did on BB23, and decided to approach Cody and Tyler about doing an all-guys alliance. “I would like to work with you guys and go strong to the end,” Derek said, to which Tyler and Cody were down for. At the Amazing Race tribe, fire was a major struggle. Hung and Claire were getting overwhelmed and bonded together about already missing home and feeling out of their element. Meanwhile, James decided to start strategizing, and wanted to approach the women. “In this game,” James said, “I want to be as well acquainted but not stick out, and I think aligning with personalities as big as Jamal or Flight Time could come back to bite me.” James met up with Becca, Claire, and Hung, but Becca was a bit worried that aligning in a group of four without Jamal or Flight Time would spell disasters in challenges. At the first immunity challenge, the contestants had to complete a huge obstacle course. Surprisingly, the Big Brother and Amazing Race tribes started super strong, with Cody and Tyler leading the charge for BB and Jamal and James leading the pack for The Racers. On the Survivor tribe, Christian, Lauren, and Janet all struggled to keep up with the head of the pack Jeremy, and ultimately, the Big Brother and Amazing Race tribes finished first. The Survivor tribe was devastated, and went back to camp. Christian approached Zeke about wanting to work together. Christian said that Michele should go first since she was a winner. Zeke thought that he, Christian, Janet, and Lauren should align to blindside the winners. “If the girls put two votes on Jeremy and the guys two on Michele, we can flush out an idol or just revote and get out Michele who is more of a challenge liability,” Zeke said. Lauren knew Michele was a loyal person, and wanted to create more ammunition to get out Zeke. “Zeke is now throwing your name out there,” Lauren told Michele. Michele was now all in on getting rid of Zeke, but Jeremy worried that Zeke may have found an idol. “We need a fourth person so we can split the vote,” Jeremy said. Jeremy approached Janet, seeing her as a possibly loyal ally. “I like you and I think we can run this game together,” Jeremy told Janet. Janet was happy to have options, but was a bit apprehensive about trusting a dominant player like Jeremy. “We split two on Christian and two on Zeke, and if Zeke does play an idol, we can get Christian out,” Jeremy told Janet. Janet was struggling because she knew Christian would be a big asset in challenges for puzzles. Janet talked to Lauren and asked her what she was going to do. “We can go with the boys or we can go with the winners,” Janet said, and Lauren knew that this would dictate her path in the entire game. At tribal council, Zeke said that he was definitely nervous going up against some legends, but he was happy to be amongst the legends. Lauren was upset that the other tribes beat them and knew that they were the favorites going into the season and they should try to keep their tribe the strongest both physically and mentally. Jeremy said that he knew he was a threat, and hoped his challenge performance would keep him around. Nobody played an idol. Zeke and Christian stuck with their plan and put their two votes on Michele, hoping Janet and Lauren would put theirs on Jeremy in case of an idol play. Jeremy voted for Christian, while Michele voted for Zeke. It was down to Janet and Lauren. Lauren went with her gut and voted Zeke, and Janet followed the winners’ plan and voted for Christian. It was a 2-2-2 tie. Zeke and Christian knew that they had been betrayed by their initial plan. On revote, the plan was followed through with Janet, Jeremy, and Lauren all voting out Zeke, sending him packing as the first boot of the season.
