SURVIVOR: DYNAMIC DUOS 2 Episode 5

Dec 23, 2021 by SurvivorGames
imagePREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Having just seen her closest ally on her tribe go home, Kelley Wentworth knew she had to play a more cutthroat game. “I feel like I’ve been coasting for a while, and now is when I need to heat up my game.” She decided to approach Ricard saying that she felt like he was a super approachable and trustworthy guy. “I loved what you and Shan had in 41, and I’d love to have that relationship,” she said, “Minus the blindside part.” The two laughed. Ricard was happy. “I know people will always look at the great Kelley Wentworth as a bigger threat than me,” he said to camera, “So I’m thrilled for this pairing.”

The morning after, Wendell and Sarah knew they were in danger. “We’re now the biggest threats hands down,” Sarah said, “We need to look for an idol.” The two searched the jungle, but Jenn laughed knowing she had the idol. Crystal and Christine decided to sit down and have a conversation hoping to patch up their drama. “I know the past two tribals have been rough,” Christine said, “But I am willing to put it behind us and focus on the future.” The two hugged it out, hoping to move forward together in some facet. Wendell searched for more options too, talking to both Jenn and Bret separately, but neither seemed too trusting. “He’s a huge threat, and I think he knows it,” Bret said, “And right now, I’m just not buying it.”

At the Peanut Butter beach, Tony was continuing trying to lower his threat level by being a provider for the tribe. Dom noticed this and tried his best to follow suit. “It’s very clear,” Hali said, “That Dom is trying to mirror everything Tony is doing because he knows that it’s either him or Tony should we lose the next challenge.” Hali talked with the girls and David to plan their next target. “I would love to get out Tony or Dom next,” Hali said. The group agreed that that was the move. “As a winner,” Denise said to camera, “I want Tony around as a shield, so if I can get Dom out, that will be my goal.”

Before the challenge, David saw that Devens wasn’t there. “I honestly expected it sooner,” David said, “And I’m just glad he made it as far as he did and now I can play my own game.” At the immunity challenge, the tribes had to push a giant ball through a difficult maze. It was straightforward but provided several injuries. Ken hurt his knee, Bret hurt his toe, and Wendell hurt his lip. But in the end, it was the Jelly tribe that came in first and won the challenge. Medical looked at Ken and told him he was cleared to continue, and same for Wendell. Bret, they said they’d keep an eye on it because his wound could end up infected. Bret hoped that he could still survive till the end of the game. “I’m in a great position and I can’t give that up now,” he said.

At the Peanut Butter beach, the alliance of six settled on splitting the vote 3 on Tony and 3 on Dom. “I know that we don’t need to split the vote,” Shan said in confessional “since I have the idol. But I’d rather just go with the plan than try to expose my idol. This season is all about lowering my threat level and not taking charge as much, so I have to stick to that mentality.” When David asked who should go on revote after a tie, Lauren suggested Tony as the bigger threat. Denise, however, knew that she needed Tony around for her game. Instead of asking her alliance to vote out Dom on a revote, she approached Tony directly. “Listen,” Denise said, “They’re splitting between you and Dom. But if you vote for Dom, it’s 100% guaranteed that he goes home, not you.” Tony was grateful, and knew he could trust Denise. “She did me a solid, and I want to continue proving my loyalty back to her,” Tony said. Kenny didn’t know where to vote. Domenick told Kenny and Tony that their best bet was to try and split up Lauren and David and go for Lauren. “She’s weaker and she’s tight with Dave,” Dom said.

At tribal council, Domenick said that he knew who the obvious threats were, but he wanted to pitch something. “Just consider how strong a duo is on this season, and then look at the duos on each tribe,” Dom said, “We had four Edge players, meaning two duos. David and Lauren are just way too tough paired together. The other tribe got rid of Devens, I think we need to show that we are willing to separate this foursome and get out Lauren.” Lauren was upset, and told Dom, “Listen, I just want to play this game like everyone else, and just because David and I were on a season together doesn’t necessarily mean we’re #1 allies.” Dom said that he just had to try his best since he knew it was either him or Tony going home. “If I can get just one person to flip and vote with the three of us,” Dom said, “We can change the whole course of the game.”

After the vote, Lauren, David, and Denise voted for Dom while Shan, Hali, and Stacey voted for Tony. Kenny and Dom voted for Lauren in hopes of getting someone to flip, but rather than letting it be a 3-3-3 tie, Tony voted for Dom, sealing his fate and securing his own safety. The women were surprised, since they expected a tie vote, but Lauren was relieved someone so vocally against her like Dom was going home. “Who flipped?” Dom asked, and Tony stayed silent, not wanting to show his big move. Denise was happy she pulled off exactly what she wanted, while Kenny was once again left on the outs.
